This place is a unique dining experience! You sit with about ten other people and there's many choices of food. Once you run out of any particular food, they bring you more of that food! It's family style! I really enjoyed the food and the service and met some great people! They also give you dessert! Parking: It's best to Uber/ Lyft or take the trolley.

I just had lunch at Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room and I yet to find a review that does it justice. This is more than just a meal, this is an experience. I sat with new friends (that I met while waiting in line) and shared a table full of the most delicious food. We couldn’t pick our favorites as every bite was better than the next. The service and hospitality makes you feel like you are special guest. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

We went here for lunch and waited outside for well over an hour. There are few benches for older people to sit and rest. Lunch is $30. They only accept cash. No credit cards. There was a woman outside trying to keep people engaged. She talked the entire hour. Not necessary. Now to the food. The sides and chicken were already on the table when we were seated. The sides were lukewarm, at best. Some were good. Some mediocre. Some unnecessary. People at my table commented about the lukewarm food. Not the best chicken I have ever had. The coating comes off on your hands and a bit greasy. Someone at the table had eaten fried chicken in Memphis where we had eaten. Gus' World Famous Fried Chicken. Gus' raises their own chickens and uses a 60 year old recipe. They also fry the chicken when you order it and use peanut oil. Incredible chicken. Moist not greasy. Even served on paper plates and no grease. Mrs. Wilkes would do better to concentrate on less sides and less greasy chicken. This is definitely a cute place but they need to reevaluate the menu. I am a southern girl and like real southern cooking. This isn't it. This place is a bit of a tourist trap and given that fact they only take cash, probably looking for an IRS audit soon.

It was a bit of a wait, but it was worth it. Food is great, but the overall experience is even better.

You have to try this place if you're visiting Savannah! But you need to get there early. We showed up at 10:40 am (20 minutes before it officially opened), and there was already a long line. I waited about an hour to get in, but it was totally worth it. While we were waiting on line, one of the descendents of Mrs. Wilkes gave a speech about the history of the Inn and Dining Room, so it helped pass the time faster, and I really enjoyed the history lesson.
