tldr: food is great, service is beyond horrible, i wouldnt recommend a party over 4 people. i placed a reservation three days in advance for friday 7:30pm for 6-7 people. called friday to confirm and update the reservation to 10 ppl. the server rushed me off the phone saying that they had my reservation and it was updated. i get there with a party of 6 people at 7:30pm and was told by the owner the server didnt know i had a reservation at that time. the server showed me the paper was written with my reservation from Wednesday, but it was never updated to the 10 people when i called that friday. the owner was not even in person and i had to speak to him over the phone. they couldnt serve me even at a minimum of 6 people, they said i would have to split between two tables for my party. they had three big tables, but i couldnt use it since two parties were already using occupying it (they have two big tables in one room right next to each other) im not sure where communication is lost when the reservation was written and near the computer screen the server frequently passes by. i just cant recommend this place to any party above 4 people if they cant properly communicate a reservation made in advance. i declined the two table offer and left for triple crown instead. i would recommend happy lamb down the street if you don't mind waiting in line on a busy friday for all you can eat hotpot. they have better service also they spelled my name wrong and my phone number. unsure how you get the area code wrong when its a chicago phone number
They deliberately inflate the number of signatures. I've checked twice, and both times the count was excessive. It was the same female server counting both times – exceeding by 10 once and 20 the other time. This can't be anything but intentional.
Michael was very pleasant and very nice.He always checked on us,we really appreciate Michael. We are definitely coming back!
Updated: This was my favorite hotpot restaurant in Chicago, simply because of their House Spicy Broth! I currently live in Central IL for college, and every time I come back to the city, I would go here for dinner. Those pork and shrimp wontons I love they never have anymore ...I travel a long way and they never have them when I go. The waitress pressured me into giving a tip last few times which I thought was rude. I just go to Happy Lamb now bc I can eat twice as much for half the price.
