Over the weekend I went to Mr. V's in Chicago. This place wasn't even on my list. Small dining room with a few tables. A lot of people coming in for pick up orders. I went with a 16" sausage pizza. The crust was firm and crisp with nice crunchy ends. The cheese was really flavorful and had a buttery flavor to it. The sauce was really tasty and had a lot of spices in it. You could see oregano and black pepper. The sausage was juicy and had a great fresh Italian sausage flavor. All of the ingredients complimented each other well and you could taste each ingredient in every bite. I really enjoyed this pizza. I was talking to the woman that owns the place and I asked her what oven she was using because the pizza was cooked perfectly. She told me that they are using an old FISH rotating deck oven that is over 60 years old. I was able to get a photo of the oven. Good pizza and I would definitely go back.

As a native Chicagoan, I’ve had my share of beefs and combos, good and bad. You know you’ve got a good sandwich when you can’t hold it without it being messy. Their combos and beefs are the real deal here. You must ask for it dipped.
UPDATE: A slice of cheese bakery style pizza hit the spot on this Friday during Lent. ORIGINAL: I've been going here for years. I like the food and the price is right. I've tried a number of sandwiches and I've liked them all. The fries they serve at crinkle cut, my favorite. The people are nice and the place is clean. I will return on a regular basis. The Elston bike lane runs right in front, though they don't have a bike rack. There is a fence nearby to lock the bicycle. I continue to return here!
Last night we ordered a Medium sausage, mushroom, and onion cooked well done/crispy. This particular pie is now in my top 3 best pizzas of all time! next time I’ll add garlic and hopefully I won’t mess it up.
Crispy pizza thin crust with Pepperoni well done is the bomb. Our family has been a regular Mr V's pizza customer over 20 years. Best in Chicago which is def saying something.
Great pizza, great people. Different spin on their pizza puff - I don't know what it is - but it's my favorite pizza puff in town. Parking: Decently sized lot, never had an issue finding a place to park when picking up / or dining in.
