This was my first time here and it was awful. We were a party of 4. We ordered a salad, meat and sides. It took an hour between the salad and the dinner to come and our server didn't seem to notice our concern or offer much apology. The dinner took an hour and 20 minutes from when we ordered. All the meat was overcooked and I thought this was the specialty of the restaurant. The plating was not pretty. I was highly disappointed. When we told the server about our meat, she told us to order it differently next time. That is not good service even for a lesser quality restaurant. I do think the sides were very good and cooked just right. For the price of this meal I would have gladly gone to several other places. We couldn't even get dessert because we were afraid it would take another hour. They weren't even that busy on a Sunday night but there was one big table of people. For having a dress code, people were in baseball caps. I was shocked by this, too. If the server has been more apologetic, maybe this review would have been kinder. Please save your money and go anywhere else.

My wife and I went to power hour before a broadway show. The night was a series of misses and mediocrity. To begin, I was not concerned about the prices but was hoping for good food and a good experience. Instead, the whole experience sort of felt like bait/switch - poor service and mediocre food at premium prices. The Power Hour menu is apparently not available on show nights, which isn’t disclosed anywhere and instead only handed a dinner menu when you sit in the bar. We checked the website and even the hostess mentioned it when we entered. I couldn’t find any of the Power Hour menu items on the regular dining menu, which was a bummer as they looked good even at regular prices. I got talked into the filet and lobster over the chicken (as “it’s a steakhouse and what they do best…”) while my wife settled for salad and white wine. The lobster was in fact excellent and would recommend. The filet was mid rare but the outside was grey and lacked both a nice crust and flavor. I’m skipping over some things like not getting addressed by order of seating, water refills, etc and will jump ahead to the server ringing me up for the wrong bill amount as I handed him my card as it was time for us to go. When he returned I let him know that he charged me the wrong amount and gave me the completely wrong ticket. His excuse was he didn’t work that area very often. No apologies. Anyway, a disappointment all around, largely wasted money, and a bitter overtone to what could have been a good night.

I would have given the food a 5 but it wasn't hot. Yes it was warm, but not hot. The food was very good but needs to be served hot.

Received our meal and our filets were burnt on the outside ( not seared) and we both ordered them medium and they were rare on the inside and my lobster was rubbery, no one checked on us after that, we had to flag down someone to get us boxes( literal doggy bag) and then had to have another server find our waiter so we could get our check, he came back we had our coats on and still asked if we wanted dessert. For all the money it cost we really expected a lot more!

Felt hustled by our server. Dominated our table with a 20 minute monologue. Pushed 4 butters on us with our steak - not letting us know that it ran up our tab 24 dollars wanted a glass of red wine with my steak - he insisted on ordering the glass himself without informing me it was a 50 dollar glass of wine. The capper was insisting on supplying us with a side dish with our meal - making it sound like it was complimentary - which was a 24 dollar side order of bacon. He easily added 120 dollars onto our bill. And we felt hustled. Have always enjoyed my Morton's experience until last night

My recent visit to Morton's Steak House in Portland left me thoroughly disappointed and frustrated. Not only did we encounter an unexpected surge in the bill of almost $125, but the overall service was subpar. We were shocked to discover an exorbitant charge of $24 for butter! a detail conveniently omitted during ordering. The surprise addition of a bacon appetizer, was unwelcome. Furthermore, the waiter's choice of a more expensive wine from a different region was both presumptuous and frustrating. Especially when he asked for something else. It felt like we were constantly being up sold and HUSTLED! To top it off, the placement of a martini in front of a guests nose in a wafting motion who happens to be on a break from alcohol was not only inconsiderate but displayed a lack of attention to basic customer preferences. This experience fell far below the standard one would expect from a renowned establishment like Morton's. It's disheartening to see such disregard for customer satisfaction. I would avoid coming here and check out ANY of the amazing places Portland has to offer.
