Morimoto

It was loud! So loud it was hard to hear our dinner companions. The service was outstanding. Definitely worthy of their one Michellin star. Unfortunately, all of the dishes were way over salted. Consistently, all of the dishes were too salty except for the sushi. I ordered the chicken ramen, which lacked a lot of the common ingredients you would expect in a Michellin star bowl of ramen. It was just chicken, broth, and noodles. The broth was over the top chicken flavor. But in the end, it was so salty that I couldn't even finish the broth. We ordered the side of mushrooms, which were delicious but also way over salted. Unfortunately, everyone at the table suffered from over salted dishes. We didn't complain to our very attentive waitress. Clearly, this is how the kitchen intended it. We shared the cliche but fun flaming chocolate desert. Everyone's cocktails were fantastic, and I tried one of the mocktails that was fantastic. The men's bathroom was clean and shared the same vibe and decor of the restaurant, but you had to walk downstairs around a hall, and it seemed to be shared with a nightclub.

Morimoto in Philadelphia is a culinary adventure, blending ancient Japanese traditions with modern culinary techniques. The sushi is a highlight, often described as some of the best, with memorable flavors that linger. While the desserts may have a strong alcohol taste for some, the overall dining experience at Morimoto is one of daring and delicious exploration.

After +10yrs, I finally got a chance to return. Everything was as I remembered, even the questionable lighting. I've never spent so much money on a meal, left hungry but still satisfied. I went with the chefs seasonal sushi. Sat at the bar and enjoyed the show. The waitress told me what everything was, but honestly didn't care. I knew it was all going to be delicious, and it didn't disappoint. I had to order some saba and I'm sad now. Nice things I can't have where I'm from and all. Server gave me suggestions for next time, I need to start saving up.

Had our anniversary dinner here and it was spectacular. The cocktails were excellent and so was the sake. We started with sashimi from the seasonal menu and honestly that was my favorite part of the meal. The yellowtail app and the entrees were also excellent. Can’t wait to go back here! This place lives up to the expectations!

been here twice and had good experiences with food/service, but what really makes this place amazing is the ambience. a must anytime i'm in philadelphia!
