Maybe we are spoiled coming from Miami where the omakase scene is crushing it right now, but this was an unfortunately disappointing experience. The food was solid in some aspects for sure but overall just felt kind of basic and not in a like a amazing traditional way either. Deserts were very good. Sake options unless you buy a bottle are limited, they don’t even let you choose. Only 1 beer choice, no wine. The overall vibe of the place is basic too, it feels more like a lunch spot than an elevated Michelin experience. We also sat at a table which may have detracted from the potential I suppose, but the sushi bar didn’t seem too much different. I don’t recommend the table experience, you feel more like an afterthought (ie: the chef doesn’t put soy sauce on the sushi). It barely cracks Michelin bib gormound level at best for us, we have 1 stars that give a much more authentic more creative more high end experience. $400/pp and just 2 beers / 1 glass of sake total
Absolutely excellent meal in every way. Honestly don’t understand the negative reviews and feel they must be fake. We went on 12/30 and simply had the best sushi experience of our lives.
This was... quite possibly the best Japanese meal I've had in this country. The food was great, the service was great, even the plates were great.. I expected to leave a little hungry.. but the food kept coming. We were stuffed and happy by the end. Go there for a special occasion, you'll be quite happy! The chef is a perfectionist, I can tell. Everything that comes out is arranged perfectly. Everything is special, and I was surprised more than a few times by simple things tasting far better than I imagined they would. Sorry for some of the pics.. the food looked so good I ate some of it before remembering to take a picture Update 2023: We came again for our anniversary, and the food was... even better I have to say. I don't normally like liver, and even the monkfish liver was delicious. The sushi as always is perfection. We had a great and memorable anniversary dinner, I'm glad we chose to come!
We were treated very unwelcome by the chef. We paid a LOT OF MONEY TO BE DISRESPECTED! We even paid extra to sit at the bar. So sad especially since it was my birthday. Such a let down don’t go
The food and flavors were underwhelming.
10/10 for experience and food. Recommend sitting at the counter. Amazing place to celebrate any occasion.
