The mid-50s guy with short white hair and glasses who works here is incredibly rude. Racist pretty much. While we were browsing the sauces, he yelled at us, and since then, he has been following us, watching our every move. It’s both creepy and extremely rude. Additionally, this store is excessively overpriced.
Very good French food. Great location in the farmers market. Very consistently good over many visits.
I had a strange experience here... I felt like only Asians were gathered in one place among the many restaurant customers. At first I thought it was a coincidence, but there were only Asians sitting around me. Is this part of the world where tables are assigned separately for whites and Asians?
So much cheese and so little time. Many other international packaged items to purchase, even a couple gluten free ones.
Ótimo almoço, pratos bem servidos.
チーズフォンデュが推しみたい ポテト、リンゴ、生ハムかな?が入ってたけどもしかしたら追加でトッピングみたいにしていくのかも。 鴨のコンフィも美味しかった グラタンも美味しかった
Coolest store in Original Farmers Market! A foodies dream! PRO: - What a selection! - Beautiful produce - Cool gadgets - Great place to look for a gift - A foodies dream! CON: - Parking is the worst, so much time circling while the time is ticking down. - Validated parking for some food places, only an hour from when you get there - Expensive parking otherwise SUMMARY: I'd like to spend the majority of time at the market here but again ... that parking.
Been coming here for decades and have lived next door for the last 9 years, both the market and restauraunt. I could go on about the food and the selection in the market, and I will. But what really makes this place is the people. The staff is always so warm, professional and on point. I've never dined or shopped here and been disappointed. The staple items such as the beef bourguignon and escargot are flawless, as are their frequent specials like the whole branzino and the calamari Provencal. Two of my favorites. The nicois salad, available with seared ahi or chunk white, is always fresh and simple, as it is meant to be. I buy the anchovies for use at home. The seafood tier is always fresh and delicious. The cheese counter is my favorite in the city, and the staff knows their products. I describe the flavor and usually avoid cow milk fue to lactose intolerance, and their cow alternstive cheese never disappoints. An anchor tennant of The Farmers Market, this place brings the authenticity of Paris to LA in a sexy little alfresco sit down package. The gourmet market is always fun as well, for staple items, the divine cheese counter I described above, the adjacent fish market (and fish counter!), unique delicacies and liquors, and of course, the amazing to order sandwiches and home made deserts, including an intense selection of French macaroons. Highly recommend.
Whenever I need a quick recollection of France, I head for M. Marcel and buy anything! But especially my fav jambon de Paris/Parisien ham.
