Quality pie shop, been here many many years. On walking in it's very clean, smells great and you are faced with about lets say 40 or more pies in the display. The crust on all very thin and perfectly made. Over thanksgiving I got 3 pies, a small pumpkin, a small pecan, and a large blackberry. They were excellent, perfect. The one thing I noticed is I believe they are made with either no salt or a normal amount of salt. As so many things these days is oversalted. So, they were wonderful! You could enjoy them and then have more! I did also get turnovers as there is no way I can walk out of there without them. They have berry and apple, and they put this sugar on them that is huge, and they are so flaky and delicious and you will find, if you eat them in your car, which you will, you may get sugar all over the place, which is fine, they are perfect and wonderful. Been getting the pies and turnovers here now for about 25 years now, the only thing that has changed is the sweet owner who started the place isn't working here now, well and they no longer do the great sandwiches like they did. But they have a very cool place you can sit outside with tables and vines are out there and shade and pea gravel and even a fountain thing made out of a dough mixer that is just huge, it's a nice spot to unwind. Very nice business, they love what they do.
I noticed that Mom's Apple Pie was open on my way to the nearest grocery store to pick up a party platter. I was late, and I had little time to get things done. I got a pie and some cookies. They cut the pie and wrapped the cookies and offered forks and napkins at no charge. Boxed everything up and put everything in a nice shopping bag. I was now good to go. Thank you Mom's Apple Pie!
I have been going to Mom's Apple Pie since I was a kid. Best pies in the world I thought. I grew up in Sebastopol, but live in New Zealand. Bought my favorite last week; Banana cream. It was awful, tasted like banana pudding with some pieces of banana. The crust was also terrible. My friend also bought a strawberry rhubarb. The crust was also bad, and the pie was only half filled. So sorry to experience such a severe decline of quality. What a shame, this place has been a regular stop on my trips home. Not anymore. The price also went up fairly drastically. Shame
I heard great things about the pies here. Wanted to give it a chance so I bought an apple, peach, chocolate and lemon meringue. However, the fruit tasted mushy/slimy, huge air bubble, the chocolate was okay. The lemon meringue tasted like egg with lemon jello instead of creamy tartness. The crust was undercooked and mushy. I will not be returning due to my dissatisfaction in the taste/quality of the pies. I Don't usually leave reviews but these pies are expensive.
I'm used to Moms apple pie In San Diego. The pies in the caas were some of the most unappealing pies I've ever seen. Very weird looking and not in an appetizing way. Didn't see hot apple cider, apple crumb, or ice cream options. Extremely disappointing
