This is one of the best Korean restaurants in Manhattan!! I went with my friend on a Saturday night and I would definitely recommend reserving your seats in advance because it’s really popular. We ordered Corn Dumplings(best of the best), oxtail and Wagyu spring roll(such a unique combo), Tartare, Rice with Octopus(my favorite sweet and savory combo) and Scallop(so fresh and flavorful). They have a good range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well. The service and atmosphere are absolutely top-tier. It’s so worth the price. 10 out of 10 recommend!!

So we went in for their set course tasting on Valentine’s Day. It was a disaster. Got there promptly at 6 and ordered a drink. Took 20 minutes for the drink to come out. Was told there is a set menu so we can’t substitute out anything for the day but will still get served pork (which we don’t eat) and have to pay for it. I checked my reservation and it said they could not accommodate a lot of diets but mine was not included so I thought I would be fine. I left on my reservation that we don’t eat pork and didn’t hear anything back here so assumed we were fine since most restaurants make sure to check this section - I guess not mokyo. Anyways they decide to cut the 2 courses off the check and we don’t get the food. We got 5 courses and left hungry. Besides that, it took 20 minutes to get our drink. We didn’t get our first course until 50 minutes in, and we were starving. Next course took another 35 minutes to come. Then out third course came out at the same time our 2nd course was on the table. And the last 2 courses came in the next 20 minutes. It took us over an hour to have more than an appetizer. 2 stars because the food was good, ruined my Valentine’s Day experience though. Was not the fault of the server though he was kind. A lot of the customers did not look happy on Valentine’s Day, I don’t think they knew how to serve set courses and adjust when it doesn’t work.

The food, service, atmosphere is top notch. Not expensive by today's standards. Small portions reasonably priced, so you should order several (2-3 per person) to taste different dishes. Highly recommended.

Food was good, and I enjoyed my experience at Mokyo. The staff was accommodating and service was excellent. The drinks were a highlight and were strong. Portion sizes are small, appetizer portions, and you might need 3 dishes per person to feel full. Highlight dishes were the octopus congee dish, which was similar to a risotto texture, the corn dumplings, and the ceviche special. Lobster roll was a bit dry and overpowered by the truffle, I would probably avoid that if I returned. Desserts were pretty good too, overall a nice experience.
