Fordt time. Large selection of rolls.
Ordered the hibachi chicken and shrimp. Maybe I was expecting the food to be seasoned at least a little. This fell wayyy short for me.
DO NOT GET THE TORO! It was offensive and expensive. Go to Raku Ramen & Sushi if you want good nigiri. Rolls are okay, hibachi was not great. Some good appetizer options. If you want good nigiri with good, fresh fish, go elsewhere.
Great atmosphere, terrific service, high quality food. Fresh sushi plus many other delicacies.
I went here on a Friday around 6:00pm and there was a good crowd, but we were still able to get a table with no wait. There seemed to be a lot of to go orders they were processing. We ordered hibachi steak with salad and vegetables and the gyoza. The gyoza was fine, nothing special. The ginger sauce on the salad was very good- I would buy that by the bottle. The steak was tender, but not much flavor. The vegetables were fine and I liked their white sauce. The fried rice had a weird taste. I am normally always a big fan of fried rice, but that was gross. The server did a good job making sure our waters were filled.
Mizu is hands down the best sushi place in Winston Salem. Their soups are excellent- miso, clear onion or seafood soup. The appetizers are delicious. Kani Salad is the best version I’ve ever had. Calamari is also a good choice. The hibachi dishes are great. Much higher quality than the other Japanese restaurants in town. The best choices on the menu is by far the sushi. The fish is fresh, the rolls are unique. You can’t go wrong with any of it. Their speciality sashimi like the uni and octopus are also very good. You won’t be disappointed by Mizu as your regular sushi place.
Japanese is my favorite cuisine… In my years of travel along the eastern US, this is by far the cleanest, freshest Japanese I’ve had, ever!
