Extremely authentic bay experience with incredible fish. The crab cakes are a must purchase and honestly so are the fried shrimp. Seating is limited so be prepared to stand around waiting for a table if you are there during peak hours.
I experienced a prolonged moment of gustatory zen while absorbing the Fisherman's Stew. We became one. We ceased to be confined by space and time. The fishes, in their sublime broth, swam through the portals of my conscience and alighted with delicate beauty into my welcoming belly. And it was good.
Absolutely delicious food all around and extremely reasonably priced. The service was wonderful and we loved eating outside looking over the harbor. My husband and I were raving over every bite and our kids cleared their plates, which never happens. We were very impressed and will have to make this a staple when we come to San Diego!
First night in San Diego and I now have food poisoning. I ordered 3 items, ceviche, crab cakes and clam chowder. Ceviche was bland, how is that possible? Crab cakes tasted like oily breadcrumbs and the New England clam chowder the flavour wasn’t bland but maybe rename it to celery soup. I took my food to go after eating a little of each. Thinking, I’ll try again later. Within an hour my stomach was cramping. For the last hour I have been losing my insides which smell like the foul version of the bland and greasy that entered the mouth portion of my gi tract. I have had seafood in states that didn’t have a coastline that had flavour and didn’t leave me sick, how did you manage this? Also, I have a stomach of steel, first time with food poisoning. Needless to say, go anywhere else.
Ordered the mixed seafood platter. The crab cake was more cake than crab. The rest was good.
This place is always exceptional and breakfast is great. Show up after 1030 if you want the best seafood tacos in SD. Before then it's breakfast only.
