First time ordering and food was so good taste like when my grandmother woul cook Sunday Dinner, I am definitely coming there to dine in.
We had a really lovely meal, and the owner came around and chatted with us & told us about the history of the place. The ribs were great, as well as the peach cobbler and the waffle banana desert.
I’ve always loved spoonbread but was recently disappointed that they changed the breading on their shrimp. It was so much better without the cornmeal and with the orange tartar sauce. Pleaseeeee bring it back !
Tiny Teeny Tiny little potions of everything...# PC Portion Control...You get nothing but these measly portions for your entree for 25 bucks. It's a total rip-off. You go leaving hungry here. There's nothing sumptuous or plentiful about the servings on ALL the entrees at this restaurant. I'm appalled that I paid this amount of money for nothing. The food tastes good but you get nothing but tiny tiny little portions. Thanks Norma ...for nothing... SHAME on YOU....another vendor thief
Very nostalgic experience. The food is absolutely excellent. This might be my favorite soul food restaurant which is really saying something.
I’m a little confused… I ordered to share at a friend’s house and this was my payment breakdown: $12.95 - BBQ chicken sandwich: the chicken was good and juicy however it came with no accompaniments or sides (just chicken on a bun) $7.95 - Mac and cheese- I got a small scoop of Mac and cheese.. for 7.95 I expect at least a decent take out side container ? $7.95 - French fries - I’m sorry but I got like 20 fries for $7.95… in what world is that acceptable? Maybe at the Mandarin Oriental. My subtotal was just under 30 dollars, I paid over 15 dollars for sides that quite frankly were the smallest portions I’ve ever had in my life… Tell me if I’m crazy ? See pic below (I had about 4 fries before a taking the pic, the rest is untouched)
We really wanted to love this local spot. Unfortunately I ordered vegetarian collard greens multiple times and it kept coming with meat in it (including when we hosted our daughter’s birthday party there and discussed having a vegetarian menu in advance).
