Waited years to finally come to Mindy’s after following on social media, arrived at 8:30 this morning so excited to find zero line, we walk in and immediately have the excitement smashed by the miserable man working the front. He completely ruined somewhere I was so excited to finally try for so long, we got zero greeting upon walking in so we approached the counter to this man just staring at us in silence, so we look at the case for a moment and each order a bagel, a pastry and coffee, the guy seemed irritated to even be doing his job every step of the way. We planned on eating there initially and grabbing pastries to take home after, but after asking if they had cream cheese for the bagels and simply getting a “we don’t apply it” and blank stare…we felt like that’s not exactly welcome. We grabbed some cream cheese from the refrigerator after looking around for it, as he in no way could be bothered to even gesture to where it was, do they normally slice and toast bagels for people or warm up pastries? I wouldn’t know because this guy then just shrugged us off, turned his back to us and a woman at the register began ringing us up after taking our coffee order, we normally buy several pastries from great bakeries but this place was so incredibly uncomfortable and unwelcoming we just wanted to get out of there. So sad and disappointed, we drove thirty minutes back to our Airbnb instead of walking around wicker park like we planned so we could warm up our pastries and toast the bagels, the local sausage danish was great, the garlic challah bagel was like a cross between garlic bread and a bagel, light and airy instead of chewy which was interesting, the everything bagel was chewy and perfect. It sucks that bad staff can ruin somewhere with such great product.

I took my girlfriend and neighbor for breakfast today - March 10, 2024. I was excited because the online reviews looked like amazing food. Since it was our first time there we didn't know there was a ordering process - ordering the food first then giving the drink order to the cashier. My girlfriend made the mistake of trying to order her drink from the food person. What was shocking was the level of rudeness and retort given. The service woman literally yelled and rudely said "food order please!!". I must say all the food we ordered was excellent. But I would not go back because I don't want to be exposed to that level or rudeness.

Best hot chocolate I’ve ever had! Their baked goods are delicious. Come closer to lunch time to avoid the morning line ups!

Amazing rich hot chocolate and delicious baked goods. The only downside is that they sometimes run out of food before the closing time and close early.

People are so warm and lovely. Everything looks great and yes they are!

I live in the neighborhood and have been to Mindy’s many times. The food is amazing and the staff is so friendly and kind. Everything I’ve had from there is SO good, from their bagels to biscuits to cookies to donuts! They have gluten free bagels and some gluten free sweets too, that are delicious. I highly recommend Mindy’s Bakery!

Baked goods are out of this world. Seriously worth the wait!!! The person who packed our order was so kind and explained what was in each item, my only regret is not buying more cookies
