Minato Japanese Restaurant

Came here for my birthday. Always a great place to go to eat. Food is always tasty.

If there is a place that deserves a 5-star on everything it’s this place. What a great service, with great food, fair prices and the right atmosphere. Today was the first day of many.

Came here for a Saturday lunch as a party of two as we strolled through Nihon Machi on Sixth avenue. Was pleasantly surprised by good portions of food and good menu prices. We ordered chicken teriyaki, California roll, and a side order of gyoza, all very good. It took about 15 minutes to get seated, and the service was friendly and attentive. Casual, family-friendly vibe and atmosphere all around. Restaurant is open for a few hours at lunch, then closes, then re-opens for dinner. Recommended!

Update: brought our daughter and met some friends with their two little ones for dinner. The team at minato was amazing. For a busy Friday night, we got all our food in a timely manner and it was delicious. Thanks Minato for some of the best food and hospitality in San Jose! Such an amazing family run restaurant. Truly a San Jose gem. So thankful that we now get to share it with our baby.
