Incorrect price of something when scanned. I told cashier and even went back to take a photo. She ignored me and spoke to her coworkers - I asked if I could get the item and she said it was the wrong price again. Held up the line for about 10 mins but I felt like I was talking to a wall? What’s going on?

I haven't had the chance to visit other branches, so I'm not sure about them, but it's easier to think you can't use the bathroom here. They removed the keypad lock, and only one person can open it with a key. Even after waiting 30 minutes, he didn't show up. Later, I found out he didn't hear the announcement calling for him because he was listening to music with AirPod. The attitude when he finally came to unlock the door wasn't very cooperative either.

Great prices, although the ground beef I purchased had no flavour

I may be back to edit this once I paste it into a text editor to examine continuity and grammar. This is a community based store. It's not anchored to a mall. I shop every couple of days and with the exception of a few people working here, there is a pervasive unwelcoming atmosphere. The store has changed hands multiple times yet this negative climate prevails. After a few years (and my constant posting about the early closing time) it was grudgingly extended to 10:00p.m. I once asked a security guard why they closed so early when Safeway was/is open till midnight and Superstore till 11:00 pm. His reply was because the people in the neighborhood are such trash, especially at night. Nice community spirit RIGHT? Security have become vigorous in chasing (herding?) customers to the till starting about 20 minutes before closing. Perhaps the staff have to stay and do their accounting or whatever AFTER the store closes and if CUSTOMERS straggle to the till a couple of minutes before closing it means they're going to have to work overtime for free. That's the only reason I can think of for such behavior. I wouldn't put it past Loblaws to treat the staff that way. Their greed and antipathy towards customers despite the jargon in their advertising became glaringly evident when they slashed reward points by 2/3 while gleefully posting record profits in the billions after using COVID as an excuse to exploit extreme price increases. To this end I noticed tonight they are shutting off the lights to the coolers at 9:30. This makes it difficult to see the prices, read ingredients or assess produce quality. Small gestures on their part that add up to the general feeling I'm talking about, that the customer is at best, tolerated. I must repeat, there are A FEW staff members here who truly do take a half a second to smile and say hello. Usually they are new hires. It doesn't take long before you see them getting worn down, their facial expression becomes glum. The exception is when gossiping with each other in a language native to the Indian continent. Whether they're talking about me, the store, or the previous night's date is anybody's guess. It's rude, but probably the only respite they get if working conditions are as I suspect they are. ABOUT PC Optimum Rewards. It used to be the best point system I had encountered. You got weekly offers of so many points for things that you actually buy. Their algorithm tailored the offers according to what the customer bought. Every 10,000 points can be used as $10 towards what you're buying on FUTURE purchases. There is no cash value. Now the points have been cut to 1/3 or 1/4 of what they were. Example: in "My Offers" every couple of weeks I would get 1,000 points if I bought a dozen eggs ... the equivalent of $1. Remember this isn't actual money. This is going into your points account that will give you $10 off a FUTURE bill for every 10,000 points. The egg offer is now 200 points MAYBE ONCE A MONTH. This is the equivalent of 20 cents for a dozen which cost $2 more ($7.85) than when the "reward" was 1,000 points. Chuck it up to the first of my three oxymorons. CORPORATE LOGIC. The other two are GOVERNMENT INTELLIGENCE & SOCIAL MEDIA. Both because they are neither. April 7th 2024 11:55pm
