Showed up for the 2:30 AM dinner service and was turned away because "it's two in the morning" and "I have no idea who you are, please leave" and "I'm calling the police". Hostess working the dog door physically blocked my entrance to the restaurant even though I followed the dress code, wearing shoes and most of a shirt. The food scraps I fished out of the garbage can weren't great anyway.
Chef Mike brought his “A” game to the “Family style” table & with the assistance of chef Luke, the turkey was incomparable to anything deep fried. Absolutely loved the prime rib, also. With a choice of 10 sides, it was all or nothing! Although there were technical difficulties with the oven’s self shutdown, A.I. kitchen support needs improvement but delay of dining time aligned with Giants/Eagles delay time and the experience was well worth it, regardless. The holiday ambience of the private back dining room was casual yet sophisticated. Dog friendly, although the dogs weren’t friendly to each other as the food was well worth a couple of deep bites to the neck, no harm no foul…. Overall, I give Mikes sports kitchen two thumbs up for our Christmas Day dining experience and looking forward to the next occasion!
Amazing food!!! Chef Mike is slow and cranky at times. But the quality of the meals and price makes the wait well worth it. Sometines crowded seating depending on how many guests are there. Regardless, it is my wife's and my favorite restaurant in the NY area.
