Honestly, I’ve always been a BIG fan of this place, but my visit 01/15/24 has made it so I’ll probably never go back. I got there around 9:15am and despite there being a lot of employees present, I waited in a VERY long line. When it was finally my turn, I ordered 1 Lady Lock and 6 Macarons (I picked the flavors myself instead of the pre-made bundle). I was a little concerned because the macaron case looked pretty empty, but since the line was so long when I got there, I figured they were just busy. I’ve since decided I believe I paid $13 for old bakery. My Lady Lock’s cream inside actually tasted like the display case…it tasted stale and still had chunks of powdered sugar in it and was truly disgusting, I had to throw the whole thing away. My macarons were all varying degrees of crunchy, none of which were the right texture for a macaron which was upsetting given they’re why I went - I usually love them from there. These were difficult to bite through, difficult to chew, and were overall incorrect. I don’t live close by, so after yesterday, this was far from worth the drive. Wound up throwing everything away….very disappointing. Find a different bakery for sure if you want fresh, high quality items.
This was my first time using Michael Angelo's Bakery. I am not a satisfied customer. I ordered a dozen macarons from their website. I received a confirmation email that my order was received. When I went to pick up my order, they couldn't find it. After waiting quite some time, I was told she would just take the macarons from the case and not charge me (but, I had already paid for them online when I ordered them. Somehow, she meant she was not going to charge me for taking them from the case?). I assumed she was going to refund my money, or, give me some type of discount for my trouble (I ordered a couple of Toffee macarons, but, was told they hadn't had those for months, even though they were listed as available on their website). Again, after waiting several minutes, I was told I would get no discount. Finally, another employee talked to a manager, and, I was given a $5 discount. Izzy, the employee at the counter, apologized, but, I expected better service from this bakery. My order was not received, the website had not been updated, I spent too long there when I thought I would run in and run out with my order. And, no sign of, or, apology from, the owner/manager.
