Really friendly staff and great food

We love eating at "Mi Mexico". Great food and good service.

I've been coming to Mi Mexico for years whenever my family goes to Bellingham. From my parents and sister, to myself, my wife, friends, sister-in-laws and my kids we all have eaten here, even though he's only 6 months at time of writing we gave him a little bit of the (diluted) horchata. The portions are large enough to fill you up but also will leave you with leftovers, I don't find the food particularly bland or salty but I would say that depends maybe on what you get, no place is perfect. The decor of the place is true to a Mexican feel but also very unique and colorful that it leaves a food impression. The staff aren't especially talkative but they do the job well enough, it would be about average if I had to score it. I'd say the 5 stars comes from the years of quality and taste along with the good look, ok service and a hefty dash of the nostalgia. Update: I'd say the service has gotten better, they're a bit more talkative now they've always been friendly though so I have a hard time faulting it for anything. It's still five stars especially now that we have two more mouths to feed

Had a fantastic dining experience at Mi Mexico last night with our table of 4. The staff was so friendly, I wish I could remember the name of our server, but she had a great sense of humour. She made us laugh and smile throughout our time there and made it extra enjoyable. The food was incredible, delicious authentic Mexican food at a great price. We were visiting from Canada and we find it really hard to get good, authentic Mexican food where we live. We will drive to Bellingham just to back to this restaurant. Thank you for the great service and amazing dining experience!

We have been coming to Mi Mexico for years, and have always enjoyed the food and service. Initially, all was great: fast service, many options, food came quickly. I shared this chicken dish with my daughter. Tasty, until she found a small black rock in the refried beans. I showed it to our server, who told me it was "a piece of an avacado pit" (which it was not) and she would show her manager. She returned to say she couldn't find him, and "they had a new supplier" of beans. Apologized and brought the bill. We were shocked to see they never comped the dish, nor discounted our bill in any way. Super disappointed in this total lack of customer service. Sharing this experience in the hope this doesn't happen to someone else! Glad she didn't break a tooth :(
