Love this place. Lots of the bad reviews are confusing it with the parking garage.
I thought this food was great. My only issue, I think, would be that there isn't indoor dining. Usually I wouldn't mind this, but seeing that it's in Cambridge, it was just really hot out. I definitely recommend it though.
Decent Mexican place in Kendall Square. Mexcito has always piqued my curiosity, but its food-truck-like aesthetic and negative reviews had kept me at bay. Finally giving it a try, I was pleasantly surprised to find that their food was better than I expected. I started with the Pollo Asado taco, featuring marinated grilled chicken thigh accented by Cotija chipotle mayo, pico de gallo, and shaved lettuce. While a bit on the pricier side for a taco, the quality of the ingredients and flavors somewhat justified the cost. The Carne Asada Bowl was a mixed bag. Despite its rather dry carne asada, the bowl was replete with a variety of fresh and vibrant components—Mexican red rice, black beans, pickled red cabbage, avocado aioli, and charred corn, among others. It tasted like something you'd find in a salad bar, but with a Mexican twist. Overall, while Mexcito may not offer the most authentic or awe-inspiring Mexican cuisine, it's a serviceable choice for a quick, satisfying, and relatively healthy meal.
The food is extremely overpriced and the staff are rude. Location is nice though.
I love this place they are super attentive and the food is amazing the lamb bowl is like the best thing ever if your tired of a chicken, pork or steak dish. They have great customer service and that's what keeps me coming back aside from the food, because that's super important.
Good food at a good price.
The main dishes seem to be fine (need to cook mushrooms longer though). Disappointed that their chips were way under salted and their salsa was essentially just tomato puree.
Mexcito seems to be a hotspot for locals and young professionals in Cambridge. We stayed at a nearby hotel, and honestly, just chose Mexcito because it wasn’t overly crowded. It was an okay experience overall. The food was good, even though there was a hair in my tacos. The customer service was decent, as well. But overall, it was just “meh.” Nothing wowed us, but if I were working in the area, I’d get my fix here with tacos since it’s walking distance. But as a tourist, I’d hop on the T and go downtown for a better, and more memorable, taco option.
Too bad their reviews are mixed with garage's review. I like their burrito. Very fast service and good location around Kendall square. In warmer seasons there are plenty of outdoor seatings nearby too.
