Knoxville Melting Pot

It was fun, but didn't live up to my expectations. Portions were small and service was slow.

my husband and i went to the melting pot in knoxville for my birthday. the food was really good and our server was super sweet. my husband was not a fan of the experience, while i thought it was fun. they lost a star because while it took the hostess only a minute to notice us after we walked up, after she told us we could wait at the bar (we were about 20 minutes ahead of our reservation), we stood there for like five or ten minutes being completely ignored by the bartender too. we ended up going back upstairs to wait and went thirsty til we were seated. Parking: the free parking is probably full but only $12 for up to 12 hrs in the paid lots

Just know .. this restaurant just had all it's staff fired/ quit on 2/19 because of their Management... The host at the front told us that the ceilings were leaking and the general manager lied about having cancer. I don't know what's happening but we left as soon as we walked in because obviously the staff was in shambles... They could barely keep up with the people that were getting sat and I really didn't see a manager once which is strange.. Wheelchair accessibility: No wheelchair accessibility... It's not actually accessible at all if you have a slight disadvantage of going down stairs.

Very nice place for a date. Service was excellent. Food and drinks were great. We had the alpine fondue which was nice but not exactly to our taste. I think it was the wine and lemon flavors in it. We will try the wisconsin cheddar next time. We tried herb crusted chicken, memphis ribs, and my husband got the steak option with the four course dinner. We reccommend ALL the flavors of the STEAK. .. that was our favorite part of the meal. And although it wasn't listed on the menu...our server was able to do a Ying yang milk and dark chocolate swirl fondue for dessert because my husband prefers one while me the other. We had a great date!

idk how to put this but there was water dripping on us from the air conditioner vent or whatever it was the ENTIRE MEAL literally as we sat down there was water on the table and seats. we were told that this was the only table available for our reservation and that we could not get a different seat. we put up with the drippage for as long as we could but it was dripping INTO our food and by the time we got the chocolate fondue we were essentially getting rained on. immediately as our server put the chocolate on the table there were water droplets on top and we had to just forget about dessert and get out of there as soon as we could. this has been one of my family’s favorite restaurants for like 20 yrs but we do not feel comfortable dining at this location ever again as the water in our food was seriously a safety hazard. our server (Danny) was amazing and comped our whole meal, and funnily enough a manager never even came to our table to explain or apologize. Seriously embarrassing and disappointing from an establishment that we have frequented and loved for so long.

I would recommend this place for everyone to try! Thank you for the great service and for the best experience! We will come back!
