The best everything

I was on my way to get chicken wings but drove past Mel's Fish Shack and am so happy that I chose Mel's instead! Oh my, you guys, I promise you won't be disappointed! It's a bright and lovely shanty at the corner of Jefferson, close to La Brea. Wow! The fry meal and seasonings combination is honestly one of my top two in Los Angeles. Everything is fresh made in-house. The menu is simple, client service is swift and sweet, and the food is made to perfection. I'm salivating just thinking about it! Can't wait to go back!

There's no where to sit and eat. It's a take-out spot. Not like before.

Great food/services... However, my last visit, I ordered 12 hush puppies and I received 6..

$15.00 dollars wasted $15.00 dollars of condiments ( hot sauce, bread etc.) 3 tiny pieces of fish. NEVER AGAIN!! Not enough fish to really taste.

Well, I think this is only about the third time in 2 decades that I've come across some bad fish. I ordered 9 pieces of Sandabs (fish only!), and out of the nine pieces I could only eat 6! The other 3 pieces were rubber. Hey! I have been given dry, sitting up all day on the counter, old pieces. I sort of notice the smell but didn't see too it that I should have notified the manager right away! "My bad for sure"!! Anyways, Disgusting!!! So, I am at the point of "I may take a break for awhile!" point! I been a customer for years,! My family has also. Social media provides this opp for me! L8tr!!!!!!
