Service was very slow even though it did not look that busy and they had three servers. The food was disappointing. According to the menu the home fries were supposed to be well seasoned but all I tasted was the salt I added. Maybe it was because they were over cooked, like the eggs. The biscuit was not what I would consider a traditional southern biscuit. It was more like a Hawaiian roll that was left on the shelf for too long. And the gravy did not flow, it was a gelatinous mass. Very unappealing, and tasted about as good as it looked.

This is my son’s favorite breakfast place! Great food, great service, relaxed atmosphere. It’s a little run down, but clean.

I waited over 40 minutes and never got my food so I walked out. It didn't use to be this way. I've been going to Mel's for 23 years but never again.

On 11/4 visited and food was horrible. Soup was dry with no broth, eggs were raw and potatoes were burnt. Chef didn’t show up and a worker was cooking. The only good thing was toast. But the waitress was amazing. They should have closed for the day.

A bit disappointing, as I remember a truly wonderful experience there in the past. If the Kitchen runs out of something ordered, then inform the customer before the plate arrives at the table!
