A perfect ambience for American breakfast. Getting the attention of the waiters takes a while, but once you get their attention, service is quick.
Back to basics. Mel's diner has finally outdone itself. Reminiscent of the 50's the food was pretty good. I had the turkey open faced sandwich with fresh vegetables, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce and a soda. The turkey was a little tough but chewable and tasty. The gravy reminded me of homemade. Wow they've improved on flavor. And was a generous portion. I give a thumbs up and was happily surprised how good it made me feel. The server was experienced and knew exactly when to ask if I needed anything with a smile. Lots of restaurants need to send their servers here so they can learn what good service is and how to treat people. The place looked and smelled clean. And that says a lot considering how busy it can get. But my food was served promptly and looked delicious. Thanks Mel's for making San Francisco a tradition everyone can enjoy. Just be aware, as with all places, the prices have gone up. But, well worth the sit around and enjoy the environment with music box selections.
I loved it, excellent service. Good atmosphere and very tasty food.
Just going to keep it simple my burger and fries where not worth $22
They are open late. Always have a good experience Parking: Limited parking but has its own lot
Every time I visit Mel's Drive-In in San Francisco, I leave happy and full! The breakfast options are my favorite, especially the fluffy pancakes and crispy bacon. The friendly service and retro ambiance make it feel like a quintessential American diner.
Food, service, and atmosphere all stellar Best vegan milkshake I’ve ever had
Decent food, San Francisco prices. Great atmosphere. Even with a packed restaurant service was quick.
Food was good and so was the service.
