I've seen it on social media and I've read that an Irvine location is coming soon, but when I saw their shop on the way to Frank & Son, I thought I should stop in to see the hype. The shop is super small upon entrance, but the bright coral pink backdrop wall really caught my attention. It's such a beautiful color it definitely brightened up my mood. The display fridge neatly showed all their goods on three shelves, but when I came in, the middle shelf was completely empty. I was bummed since it was mostly their fruit series, but I asked the staff if they had any more and to my delight, they did! Since the fruits are cut fresh, it takes about 3-4 minutes for them to prep and best consumed within 1-2 days. The ones without fruit can be consumed within 3-4 days. They are a bit pricey in my opinion starting at $8 a piece, but the quality, flavor and cute mason jar adds up to the value. So I got two - matcha and strawberry. They had some special flavors like red bean mochi that was $12, but I wanted to try the original before going all in. All I can say is WOW. I was really taken aback in a good way. Super silky, milky and coconut-y. Flavor and sweetness are both light, but distinctly coconut. The original coconut jelly has the consistency of silken tofu, which makes for a refreshing dessert that is palate cleansing, but not filling. So basically, you won't feel guilty for finishing an entire jar in one sitting. The matcha was like a matcha latte, but much more milky than matcha taste. Overall, I'll stick to the original series with fruit on top, but I'm quite curious about their other flavors like black sesame, oreo, avocado, taro, and durian. Now I'm excited for the Irvine location to open!
If you're looking for something not too sweet & light the this is for you! Melo Melo serves coconut jelly with a variety of flavors to choose from.
Went to take my daughter on her birthday because she really wanted to try it but, the parking area was closed off near it and we got frustrated trying for 40 minutes to find parking near there. I gave up and left.
Melo Melo specializes in coconut pudding and fruit based desserts. They have a wide variety of different fresh cut, seasonal fruit and high quality purées to pair with their delicious, silky coconut pudding. They don't use water to dilute their pudding which results in a fresh, flavorful, soft-tofu like texture that just melts in your mouth My family and I love coming here and getting a bunch to share. Every flavor is so different and it never disappoints Some of my favs: - double coconut - fresh strawberry, golden kiwi, mango - MOCHI!!! Mango and strawberry - puréed strawberry, taro - matcha red bean Pro-tip: They currently have three locations -- Rowland Heights, City of Industry and San Gabriel! We wanted to check it out after we went to Frank and Sons. We never tried coconut jelly before and we were skeptical. They had variety, and we picked red dragon fruit, mango river(no coconut jelly) and purple yams. They are so delightful, its light and its not overly sugar, it definitely something for people lactose and tolerant and makes me feel good that I ate something so healthy. Its like yogurt and jelly like. Would definitely come back staff was friendly.
Melo Melo is such a refreshing fruit dessert! It has a silky smooth coconut base and is soft, light, and not too sweet! Tofu texture and melts in your mouth. Delicious to try this summer 🥥 it's not heavy like other desserts! California is so hot this summer and this helps beat the heat.
