I don’t do reviews but for Meckles, I would. The people there are just so nice! The service is always so kind and nice- everyone there is always so sweet and patient with our kid. The food is also one of our faves- esp the club sandwich & fries.. the mekchicken and mac and cheese are also our regulars.
Mekelburg’s has a great selection of beer, fantastic wings (meaty, nicely battered, lots of flavor), and I loved the chicken parm as well. I like how you can get just four wings as well, nice little snack
Haven’t been to the Clinton hill location in 18 months but really missed it and was so excited to go and get some old favorites, but the menu changed. However, was happy to see some classic items still there like the hot chicken which was really good! Also ordered a 25 dollar burger, one dollar for each minute I waited for it. The busboy who was maneuvering the garbage out of the back and into the outdoor trash then came to serve our burger after 30 minutes with no gloves or anything. Not sure if the garbage handlers should be serving food. Anyway, the burger was dry and cold and inedible. None of the servers checked on things and when I went to pay the bartender asked how everything was and I expressed some disappointment which was met with laughter. I left wondering, “what happened to this joint?” I hope Williamsburg is better.
I lived around the corner for years, and Mekelburg’s was always a solid choice for a chicken sandwich and a beer. Coming back after a year away, I was really disappointed in the quality of the food. I was served a “hot chicken sandwich” that was literally just an acrid breading with kewpie mayo on a bun. Please do not take this as hyperbole. I searched through the sandwich for signs of chicken meat, and I would say that I found about as much meat as my left thumb. The buffalo chicken wedge salad was no better. The server comp’d the sandwich when we showed him our sandpaper sandwich, which I have to appreciate. However, I would never eat here again. Grab a beer here, don’t risk the food.
Amazing place, went 1 hour from close (not proudly) and got the full service with amazing food and drinks.
waited 44 minutes and food did not come when we asked bartender said order was never put on to kitchen due to tome issue we couldn’t wait for the chicken sandwiches
It's a grocery, it's a bar, it's a restaurant. It's a really fun date spot or place to hang after work.
