I love the food and service here. I like the Katsu Curry more than the Shabu Shabu one since it's more savory. The salad with salmon skin is also amazing and it is a good appetizer. I also ordered the Assorted Tempura but I don't really recommend it since it will be a bit too much to eat all the sides and finish your bowl, unless you go as a group because I struggled to finish my bowl after all the tempura filling my stomach and, you know, fried food fill it quick. Overall, probably the best Udon place I ever tried in OC.
The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot to warm up on a chilly day or enjoy a satisfying meal with friends. The staff is friendly and attentive, providing excellent service from start to finish. If you're a fan of Japanese cuisine or simply craving a comforting bowl of noodles, Meiji Seimen is a must-visit destination in Costa Mesa!
Love the handmade udon, good texture and nice flavors for the soup. I also had the eel rice but I'll recommend the noodles instead. The small dish of the crispy fried chicken are also very good. Juicy and tender meat.
Authentic Japanese restaurant.
Really enjoyed the Chicken tempura curry udon. It was delicious and spicy (level 1) and the chicken was actually crunchy. Join the wait-list beforehand, our wait was ~45 min (worth the wait, I would return here for sure)
