One of the most interesting tea stores I've been in. Large collection of tea from around the world and very knowledgeable owners.
Having found the bulk coffee & tea shop after wandering around following an off-broadway show, I selected Tanzanian Kilamanjaro peaberry lb. of coffee ground for drip. As I walked among the many bins in the shop, it seemed a place of history and expertise. It reminded me of Harry Potter in Diagon Alley selecting a wand best suited to him. Although, I drink a lot of single origin coffees, esp. Central American region, I also enjoy, and have a more challenging time finding ones from East Africa and Pacific regions. Once home, I completed a web/mail order pick of 4 different coffees and they were delivered very fast by UPS. And very carefully packaged. My experience is so positive that I truly believe McNulty's is among the most important coffee roaster/retailer in the USA. I look forward to many future purchases whether I am in the city or have to request delivery.
How nice is their serenity blend! Has become my nightly ritual! I just wish they could also increase their international selection of teas, I found that they were out of stock with a few of the popular commercial blends
Expensive price 30$ for 120g chinese tea too much It cost no more than 20$
All sorts of teas and coffees for sale here. It's very old fashioned, dark and has loads of jars of tea and coffee around, with old fashioned scales and grinders. It's like walking back in time, definitely an interesting place to visit.
I don't visit NYC often, but when I do, McNulty's is on the list of must visit places. The teas are so well curated and the atmosphere is special. In this world of generic Starbucks and Dunkin', McNulty's is a special treat for the senses and the psyche.
The people here love tea and coffee. Hard to beat the enthusiasm and knowledge here. Anything here for this long must be doing something right.
