Not sure how we drive from Michigan to Texas only to give an Irish pub, but this place was a great find! Very eclectic and unique inside with great service and wonderful food. The beer selection was impressive and we happened to be there on an early evening where a lovely crooner was playing songs and taking requests.

What a great place to dine in! My fiancé and I came to Jefferson to visit for my first time in 19 years! I was born there but, my family moved to New Orleans when I was 4 and my last visit was in 2004! This was the very first place we stopped at, for breakfast and all I can say is, WOW! AMAZING EGGS BENEDICT! Simply mouth watering! The service was also just as good! We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful day, with our dog. They were very kind to provide a dog bowl with ice water for him to stay hydrated! We went back about 2 months later for dinner with my cousin and his wife and sat inside that time. So much fun stuff to look at and the food, again, was excellent! I had the chicken marsala with a poinsettia for my beverage. We already can't wait to go back! 10/10!

Move on by McGarity’s Saloon While in Jefferson during the middle of the week, we visited all of downtown and decided to stick around and have lunch. The reviews seemed good for this place, so, we decided to give it a try. We arrived shortly after noon and there were quite a few people in the restaurant. However, there were a couple of two-tops and two four-top tables available. Seating at the bar was empty. There was one couple already in the restaurant waiting to be seated. A server from behind the bar area acknowledged us an told us it would be just a moment to be seated. We waited, along with the other couple for ten or fifteen minutes with the vacant tables still available with no further contact by any of the staff. The first couple decided to leave. We waited another ten to fifteen minutes before someone finally decided to come out to us and seat us. Our server assigned to our table took our orders - chicken fried steak dinner and hamburger with fries dinner - fairly quickly and then brought us a small basked of chips. I also ordered a side salad, which was brought out quickly and was fresh and tasty. However, it went downhill from there. We waited forever for them to bring our main entrees. When they finally arrived, the only thing that was hot and tasty was the mashed potatoes on my plate. The chicken fried steak was pretty hot, although it had been nearly burnt to a crisp. The meat was tasteless, and the batter had a burnt taste. The hamburger was cold and tasteless. The bun was dry and very hard. The onion rings were basically room temperature and were just OK. Maybe they were just having a bad day, but, overall, it definitely was not what we expected and definitely worth the price paid.

I made a special request for a Pittsburgh rare steak, a rarity in most restaurants. I was only the second person to ever make this request at McGarity's, but the chef nailed it. The steak was cooked to perfection, with a delightful sear on the outside and a tender, juicy center. It was truly amazing. What impressed me most was the staff's willingness to accommodate my request. They went out of their way to ensure I had a memorable dining experience. The service throughout the evening was attentive and knowledgeable, making me feel like a valued guest. The quality of the ingredients shines through, and the flavors are well-balanced and delightful. In conclusion, I highly recommend McGarity's Restaurant & Saloon Jefferson. With its outstanding service, inviting atmosphere, and exceptional food, it's a standout choice for a remarkable dining experience.
