McEwen's

This was quite possibly the best meal I’ve ever eaten. I got the halibut special and opted for the cheesy grits instead of potatoes. I can’t say enough good things about it! It was heavenly. Thomas, our waiter, was incredible too. The service was so timely and we never had to ask for anything! I highly recommend coming here! I’m also gluten free and Thomas made sure I was informed on all the food that was safe for me to eat.

Thomas waited on us tonight. He was spectacular! He recommended the Creole Spiced Braised Pork Osso Buco. It was brought back to the menu tonight and it was amazing. My wife’s Sweet Potato Crusted Catfish was also delicious. It’s obvious why McEwen’s is a top choice in Memphis. Top tier dining without the top tier price. Thank you Thomas for a memorable experience.

Owner chatted with us a good long while and everyone was friendly. Exposed brick makes you think you could be in Brooklyn, menu is outstanding and varied. Loved the catfish, my friend went back again the next night and got the sea bass for a second time.

The staff were great, they have an amazing selection of whiskey and the seabass was amazing

Its a very nice quiet date night type of thing. Service was phenomenal and very friendly. Quality control is lacking, a lot. I looked up food reviews and was very confident making our reservations almost a month in advance. However, it seems as though our portions did not live up to photos seen from reviewers. Everything was HEAVILY UNseasoned and our $145 dinner for 2 looked like kids meals smaller than that of a kids meal at McDonald's. Like what even is that $40+ steak dish?! Would you not be mad if thats what you got for $40+?!?! I was very disappointed to see our portions after what i saw from other reviewers before making our reservations. Simply look at my sea bass and the steak and compare it to the others you see in the review section... QUALITY CONTROL I will not visit again and i will not be sending any of our scientists there in the future as i got a couple of bad complaints from my department at work about this establishment. I now know why. Thanks you all for being very kind and welcoming but the food needs a lot of work for the prices youre charging. Its very much a "ill spend whatever they want me to, infront of my friends" type of place. Save your money and go to Flight instead. They pride themselves on their food, as they should! I think McEwen's started off on very good note but their food is not worth it anymore.

Our party of eight enjoyed superb catering by the staff and the mouthwatering dishes were simply delicious. If you're in Memphis I highly recommend that you enjoy the laid-back atmosphere and excellent variety of food at McEwen's!

I had the grits and shrimps. The sauce was tomato sauce. That was weird. I've never had that type of sauce on my grits before. I did not like it. Also, when the valet guy took my car, he told me that he would appreciate a tip. When I asked him to get my car after dinner, he told me it's $20 valet charge!!! I was like, that was not what you told me, but I didn't want to get in an argument, so I gave him the $20. He gave me my key and pointed to my car, which was sitting right in front of the restaurant! I won't be back.
