Salmon is cooked in an air fryer so it was pretty dry and flavorless. Not really what I expected from a Mediterranean restaurant but if you’re not going for the authenticity or flavor and just want a falafel fix with a coffee shop type vibe then it works. Pros: the service is great
Came here a month ago, and I was so excited to try the food. However, my enthusiasm swiftly waned upon tasting the dishes. The hummus failed to impress, receiving a meager 2 out of 10, while the falafel fell short, earning a dismal 1 out of 10. Additionally, the pita bread left much to be desired, as it was unfortunately stale.
Superb!! Really felt a void when Ali Baba left Lakewood but Maya’s has filled the bill! Wonderful clean healthy food! Great prices and exceptionally pleasant staff!! Best French fries in Dallas and they are air fried..eat all you want, they’re good for you!! Thank you!! Dietary restrictions: Great options for vegans! Everything here is healthy and oh so fresh!!
Rarely does my lunch taste as good as it looks except when I eat at Maya's. I've tried a number of items on their menu over the years, but my fave is their Mediterranean salad topped either with salmon or chicken shawarma. My colleague enjoyed the beef kabobs today.
Being that I am a Michigan Native middle eastern cuisine specifically Lebanese is very familiar to my palate. The staff are very nice and welcoming. I loved the ambiance of the resturant. There are large windows which allow alot of natural light to enter. The foods plating was just as picture perfect. The foods flavor however was different from what I am familiar with as it pertains to mediterranean cuisine. I ordered a falafel pita and the spices seemed to be lacking it could have used a bit more cumin and coriander it also was very mushy as though it was undercooked. According to the menu they air fry as opposed to actually frying the falafel which leaves it a bit mushy and not as crisp as the traditional cooking method of oil. They also layer a medley of red and orange bell peppers onto the pita which give it a very odd flavor. It wasn't bad just not what I'm used to. I took my mom who ordered the salad which was very attractive but also not what we are used to eating being that the ingredients included eggs and dried cranberries. Overall it's a spin and twist to traditional Mediterranean food. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good either.
Food was so yummy! Hummus was real, not the sour cream gunk some others try to pull. The pan seared salmon in a pita was ohmy good! I'd prefer the pita warm but it was fresh and tasty. I also had the coffee, which I completely suggest!
