Matto Espresso

Coffee was extremely hot, got a burn as a result. No sort of flavor in the drink I ordered either, could get better coffee at a deli.

Lina, the server was very rude and unnecessarily abrupt right from the start.This is my first bad experience at Matto. Her service was terrible, the coffee was awful and the cinnamon scone was hard and tasted stale. I had to throw them both away despite paying for them and being hungry. I explained to her I wanted a caramel latte, she was quite arrogant, talking down to me as though I don’t know what type of coffee I want. she also said nothing about an extra charge that I’ve never paid for in the past. She then charged me for the caramel, saying it’s a new requirement to charge for flavor, yet I could taste no caramel flavor. I told her this is bitter and tasteless and she refused to even add another pump or make me a better coffee. Saying she will charge me another .75 cents for a pump of caramel. Every other time in the past years that I’ve been to Matto the coffee and pastry is perfect at first taste, I don’t even add sugar. This Lina at this location needs better training in making coffee, customer service, simple courtesy, kindness and good manners.

I’ve come here for more than two years. The staff turns over but I’ve found almost all of them to be friendly and capable. Coffee and food is good for the price. My only complaint is that the price structure has changed, doubling the cost of my large latte. And the loyalty program seemed to disappear overnight. For the new prices, I don’t have the same incentive to come here anymore. It’s too bad.

Nothing beats a $2.50 Latte, this is one of the smaller Matto branches I have visited. It was a little crowded but people managed to get their drinks quickly despite the fact that there was only one Barista

The prices are unbeatable and service is very fast, especially when you order on the app. This has been my local coffee shop for nearly three years, and something I look forward to on my way to work. The only shame is the new staff that came in about 4-5 months ago are very cold, unfriendly and combative (especially the girl). They seem to hate their job, unlike the staff in years before them who were always extremely friendly, talkative and seemed to enjoy their jobs. And that positivity made a real difference to the place.

It’s a real pity the service staff changed over the summer - the new ones are not very friendly and borderline combative, very unlike the always smiling, hard-working staff before.
