Matthew's Restaurant

My fiancee and I went here for our engagement dinner. The food was the best food I have had in my entire life. We went with the chef tasting menu, each course was fully explained to us and was an experience in itself. I would have been happy with a full sized meal of any course we had. The items were carefully selected, and we had the opportunity to eat foods we have not had the opportunity to experience before. The service was beyond what you would expect for a fine dining establishment. Our server was very considerate in serving us properly. And was very knowledgeable of all the menu items. She explained each dish as it was brought out and answered all of our questions. Above all, she was very kind and attended to our every need. I would not have been surprised to find out we were her only table. The atmosphere was great. Every table was full, but the location is small enough not to feel stuffed. The volume was low enough it was easy to have a conversation. As far as the vibe, everyone was dressed well. The lighting was appropriate and very modest decor. You could also see the kitchen where the food was prepared. It was expensive. However, it was worth every penny.

Matthew’s is a gem of fine dining in Jacksonville! From their incredible staff (hi Cricket!), ambiance, and food Matthew’s excels. After dining here ~10 times and trying the Chef’s Adventure Menu each time I have yet to leave with anything but a smile and full belly. The food is to die for, the cooking staff really knows their stuff. Each dish has unique and delicious layers of flavor. I really could go on and on about the amazing food, knowledgeable staff, and great chefs but y’all should understand that Matthew’s is an experience absolutely worth having. Parking: You are able to valet your vehicle, park in the plaza parking lot adjacent to the restaurant, or park in the parking garage 30ft away.

Amazing cuisine and service!

Went here for date night and it was a nice and cozy atmosphere. I didn’t like the ceviche as the flavors didn’t mesh well. The pasta was really good as it was rich but light at the same time. Also ordered the wagyu hot stone which was good. Overall 4/5

It was my first time visiting Matthew‘s restaurant, and everything that I ordered from the entrées to the dessert was nothing short of amazing. The staff was very professional and didn’t have any issues with answering any questions that I or my guess had about the menu. The chef even came out to greet us. The portion sizes are small, but everything was worth it just order more food . Lol

I was in Jacksonville on business in February, and stumbled across this place on Google. The wait staff that served our table was extremely polite and very knowledgeable of the menu a recommended pairings. I ended up getting the, beef tartar, the escargot, the surf and surf (diver scallops and seabass), and the lemon lavender creme Brule. It was all amazing! It's been a month and a half and I still have dreams about that Seabass dish.

I've never been to a restaurant like Mathews. My sister Pam took me for my birthday. From the time we drove up to the restaurant it was amazing. The only thing we had trouble with was finding the place. It doesn't have a big sign. Our waitress Jess was very knowledgeable about the menu, she explained every course. We tasted food that we never tried before and ever thing was absolutely amazing. We will be returning many times in the future

Excellent experience. From the charcuterie to the Australian ribeye to the Grand Marnier soufflé, everything was flavorful and delicious. Ryan, our server, was timely yet not intrusive, and saw to everything. Looking forward to returning.
