So disappointed with the Pancit, it has only 4 small pieces of Chinese sausage and 1 small meat. I have to count it and veggies I can’t barely see. It’s 32 once. Why so stingy with meat and veggies??? It’s just mostly noodles. The Shrimp soup is delicious. This was the second time I ate at this Restaurant and I was twice disappointed. When I called she told me how much was the price of the Shrimp Soup. I told her I don’t care about the price. I am more quality than quantity. Hoping they changed the quality of their Pancit. I paid $48. for the Pancit and for the Shrimp Soup. Is it worth it??? Nope. And for the fact they have good reviews??? I don’t usually do reviews. But the Pancit made me do it.
Best place to get Filipino food in Tampa, take home portions are huge and their lumpia is the best you’ll get.
The food could use a little more seasoning. Staff is very pleasant. We had a large order that was called in with a specific time for pick up. They ran about 20 mins late.
here's a stellar review for Mata’s Philippine Cuisine: "Step into Mata's Philippine Cuisine, and you're not just dining; you're embraced by the warmth of a Filipino home. From the moment you're greeted by Lola, the heart and soul of this place, to the last satisfying bite, it's a journey of flavors and family. The BBQ Chicken on a skewer was a highlight - tender, flavorful, and simply divine. The pansit danced with freshness and seasoning, a delightful melody on the palate. My wife savored the Kare Kare and Lechon Kawali, both immaculately cooked and seasoned to perfection; each bite was an ode to culinary excellence. The Sisig pork was a symphony of blended seasoning and homemade gravy that truly captivated every taste bud. Beyond the extraordinary dishes, the ambiance radiates a cozy, familial aura where everyone seems to be part of this extended family. The smiles on customers' faces echoed the joy of sharing great food and the warmth of hospitality. Mata’s Philippine Cuisine isn't just a restaurant; it's an experience, a home away from home. Without a doubt, it deserves a solid 5 stars for its exceptional food, inviting atmosphere, and the way it makes you feel like family from the moment you walk in." Parking: Great location
If I could give more stars I would.
Everything about my visit was above and beyond excellent. From friendly service, a casual and comfy environment, and absolutely amazing food! Can definitely recommend the sisig, adobo, lumpia shanghai, and ube. Would definitely eat here a lot if I lived nearby!
Cute Filipino place with delicious Ube Rice Krispies ice cream!
Went to try their Ube Halo-Halo. Halo-halo is said to be the unofficial national dessert of the Philippines. The name is tagalog for "mix mix" which is very appropriate as it consisted of shaved ice, evaporated milk, Sweetened plantain bananas, sweetened red munggo & white beans, nata de coco, cOConut palms, macapuno, langka, tapioca pearls, ube jam, leche flan, pinipig, ube wafer stick, and ube ice cream. They also very kindly let me try their two best sellers: Sisig (pork dish described as like ceviche) and Lechon Kawali (fried pork belly). The fried pork was so delicious, and I would go back for that as a full dish!
