Mastro's Steakhouse

I visited here for the first time for my boyfriend's birthday dinner. The crabcakes, garlic mashed potatoes, tuna tartar, oysters on the hall shell, steak were well seasoned and tasted great! However, the crablegs were not that large for the piece, I was disappointed! The drinks were good. I would dine there again, but no more crablegs for me. The waiter was pleasant and gave good suggestions on our drinks.

We decided to try Mastro's in NYC due to our success with them in the Los Angeles area. They didn't disappoint again. Food was excellent and the service was awesome. Our server, George, took care of us and made us feel welcomed and appreciated. The atmosphere was lively and it was a good crowed present. The food was great from the bread (small charge) to the appetizer to the main entrée and then to the highly anticipated butter cake dessert! I recommend Mastro's to all who enjoy fine dinning. I also recommend to try Mastro's at other locations in the US, rather it be a their Steakhouse or Ocean Club, they will be delectable and pleasurable!

I was looking for a steakhouse near where I was staying and Mastro’s came up. I did not know anything about it; I was just craving for a nice piece of meat. We were welcomed however we did not have reservations. They have a dress code, semi formal, no t-shirts and caps. We were seated close to the band which played nice music, not to loud or in any way disturbing our table conversation. We’re all carnivores, so this is the place. I believe the meat is aged, it’s done to perfection and it almost melts in your mouth, its super soft. I had the porterhouse 24oz and it was amazing, worth every penny, we also ordered the filet 8 oz and the New York Strip 16 oz and they were excellent. All side orders are a la carte and pricey, but you can share. That’s what we did, and they serve plenty (sautéed asparagus, wild mushroom and truffle gnocchi, and lobster mashed potatoes. They offer you a scoop of seasoned butter to go with your steak, it is also pricey but it’s a must. Overall it was a great experience, my only dislike is that the place is so fancy but so poorly lit with bluish purple light; I like to see what I am eating, it’s not a discotheque. The pictures came out clear because we used a filter.

En vacances à New York quelques jours en fin décembre, nous cherchons un restaurant Steak house pour manger une bonne viande, nous cherchons sur Google, rt à New York beaucoup de choix, nous tombons sur Mastro's Steakhouse, et franchement qu'elle régalade!!!! Je sais pas si j'avais déjà mangé une aussi bonne viande de ma vie... c'était excellent!!! Service très bien également!!
