This is one of the coziest spots near the city hall. The food is very homie, the staff is lovely, the menu is cute and brought a smile on my face. Overall, highly recommend this place if you feel like some homemade Japanese food.
Love this place, such a gem in a corporate-chain area of town. The food is incredibly consistent, high quality, great price. The service is super warm and friendly. The lady who runs this place is worth her weight in gold. I’ve been coming here for years and glad it survived the pandemic - it’s a great as ever. Best breakfast in the city as far as I’m concerned, unless you want to pay $25 for eggs at yolks or some other chain. Kid-friendliness: Great for kids! Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheel chair friendly. Lots of space between tables. Too much in fact.
So happy it's still open during the Skytrain expansion. Been going here off & on for six years and the food and service is always good. Not expensive. Cute little spot. Highly recommend for a not heavy but filling brekkie.
Been twice to Marulilu Cafe, a Japanese cafe that specializes in omurice. The inside has 7 tables (16 seats). It's cafe style so go up to order and pay. - Hamburger steak with tomato bisque ($19.99) - tender and moist, yet still retained a nice bite. Sauce was homey and comforting. - Omu curry with garlic rice add pork cutlet ($20.99) - curry was mild, slightly sweet. Lacking depth but servicable. - Japanese style beef curry with garlic rice add pork cutlet ($17.99) - similar to the omu curry. Fukujinzuke had a subtle sweetness. - Unagi onigiri set ($15.00) - karaage was juicy. Oshinko were crisp. Simple Japanese comfort food. 3.5 stars.
Great atmosphere, nice for a little bite away from the rain. Friendly staff, and delicious food.
Great. The unagi onigiri is heaven
