Egg tarts are just like the ones I’ve had in HK. You must call at least 30 mins ahead but it may take a bit more for them to be ready as they are baked on demand. We got a dozen for $30 and came with something extra. Cash only. The chef was super friendly and great with kids. I would definitely order more when planning to be in the area. Maria's Bakery has been around for over 30 years now- owner Dragon Mak is very friendly and shared his experience of escaping to Macau at age 12 and later starting a life in the states. This tiny mom & pop Asian bakery shop sells very limited number of items, and all orders are to-go. I recommend calling and ordering a dozen egg tarts ahead of time, because otherwise, you will likely need to wait for freshly baked egg tarts for 15 minutes. The wait wasn't that bad, but the shop is very small, and there were only about 4 chairs available inside (no restroom for customers). Before we left, the owner said to wait about 15 minutes to eat them so that the egg tarts had time to cool down a little. The egg tarts were very delicious - so crispy on the outside and perfect consistency on the inside. I'm starting to now realize that the crust makes or breaks an egg tart from being average vs. amazing. I also really liked that Maria's bakery egg tarts are a good size - way bigger than Kirin Court's, Ranch 99's, and 85 degrees'. I'll definitely be returning again!! TL;DR Call in for dozen egg tarts to-go and have $30 in cash. You'll taste the best egg tarts in the DFW metroplex! I only came here for the egg tarts. It was freshly baked and tasted absolutely delicious. The tart was crispy and flaky, and it was very sweet. One of the best egg tart place I have tried in a while.

This is hands-down the best Hong Kong style egg tarts in the Dallas area! Don’t be surprised if the owner hands you a pizza box either, it’s a fun conversation starter for many. I discovered this place back in March 2020, right when COVID-19 hits, and have been supporting them since. Prices went up over the years, and it’s encouraged that you order a dozen instead of buying individuals. It costs $30 for a dozen, or $5 each— you do the math. Make sure to call ahead to place your order, and bring cash when you pick up. I did have some difficulties when ordering ahead sometimes due to the language barrier. The wife speaks Mandarin, but if you get the husband, then you can order in English on the phone. The egg tarts are big and filling, and the crust is super flaky with every bite. The store is your definition of a hole-in-the-wall, so don’t be judgmental, or else you’ll miss out on an amazing bakery. My boyfriend’s brother said it’s very good and can easily be compared with the ones he ate in San Francisco’s Chinatown. I’m not sure if they sell anything else but egg tarts nowadays, but there are photos of customized cakes on the table if you want to ask. Highly recommended!!
