My Little Princess and I dined on oyster and artichoke soup, turtle soup, Creole catfish, and fried oysters and catfish. The food was great, but disappointed that the turtle soup had veal, not snapping turtle, but the soup base was excellent. The old fashioneds were very good. If visiting New Orleans for a few days, consider this restaurant during your stay.
I am directing this bad review to the owner / manager of Mandina's. We experienced the Worst Customer Service I've ever had in any restaurant. We arrived at 7:00 and were not seated until 8:30. I went to the girl 3 times checking the list. Talking to other customers they all said 45 minute wait, and we waited twice that long! There is no excuse for this. The word manager came up and I told her, "yes go get the manager", which she didn't do. We were one of the last people to be seated. I even took a picture of the clock when we finally sat down. My guess is y'all seat tables of 4 are larger, and penalize tables of 2 to be seated last !!! I am a Google Guide 8, and will shout this to the rooftops about how we were deliberately ignored.
Great food. Could be kept up better. Food was amazing.
Noone but the 2 of us in the dining room. Service was okay. Food was very good.
This is THE place to go to for local mid town dining. You won’t find anything special here except great staff, FANTASTIC food and a great time. If you want REAL local food I highly recommend this place! Can’t wait to get back.
