Oxtail was to die for. Best I’ve had in the neighborhood! Have come more than once during my work lunch break and everyone was very friendly.
Went to this restaurant to get some soup but they didn’t have the soup that I wanted so because I’m so picky when it comes to meat I decided to get a small white rice with curry gravy and potatoes that was in the curry …when I got to my job I started eating and by the forth or fifth bite I saw a mouse dropping in my food totally disgusted I took the food back to the store with the mouse dropping…I believe the owner an older lady with glasses tried to tell me that she didn’t know what that was and I clearly opened and gave it to her for her and her worker to se that that was a mouse dropping with curry sauce ….refuse to eat out anywhere traumatized by this because I don’t know if I swallowed any mouse droppings….and still after all of that they served all there food to customers throughout the day comfortably
I was in the mood for some good homemade carribean soup. I went to another restaurant closer to my house and the woman at the counter so was rude that I left. I then remembered that Mandeville Kitchen was right down the street. I always drive by, but never had a chance to go inside, I am so glad that I did today. From the moment I stepped in I felt welcomed, I was greeted and both ladies at the counter were nice. The soup was exactly what I wanted. It was nice, hot and flavorful. It gave me a tingly feeling inside lol. I am so happy that I found this place and I will be back for more. Thank you soo much ladies!
Pretty good spot if your looking for inexpensive West Indian food
Older lady with blue short hair was rather rude. I made a simple order jerk chicken and rice and peas. Without asking me she added something that I don’t eat nor do my children. After correcting the her and asking for a change she got an into a fit a full attitude and hissed her teeth and gave me rations of what I asked for. I’m truly disappointed in the lack of pride in a black owned business and lack of self pride and when being paid to be professional and have a decent amount of pride and work ethic. Shame.
Just go try it!!! Can’t go wrong with Jamaican food.
