Manchester Academy

Solid small to medium sized rooms. Well organised even when they have multiple acts/events on. Decent bar as well in the Student Union building

Review based on the Club Academy in the basement, not on the band or wider venue. Saw The Libetines here last week, great show from them. The venue holds about 650 people, but you're really packed in. Feels a bit unsafe squashed in a basement, plus it's very laborious trying to get to the bar - took about 20 minutes of jostling for position. Random pillars dotted around which can block your view if you're in the wrong place too.

Nice venue for concerts.

Kinda confusing to find, images online suggest that it was in the colourful building. Probably needs to be a bit clearer that it's in the building next to it. Other than that sound quality was good and gig was great. Wish the choice of on tap beer for the smaller venue was better though.
