Mama 'n Papa's Pizza Grotto

As a Vista native, I can attest to there being A LOT of italian food options in the area. I've been eating at Mama n' Papa's for decades and have NEVER been disappointed. The majority of time I get a pizza (sometimes thin crust), and their antipasto salad. The pizza sauce is delicious. The amount of toppings is just right for an "under cheese topping pizza," which can be prone to losing their toppings to a wayward tilt (IYKYK, looking at you Pizza Port). The salad is never wilted and the house and italian dressings are so flavorful and not overly oily. I NEVER leave reviews, but I'm sitting here eating a leftover slice of sausage/pep, dipping the crust in the house dressing, couldn't be happier with the situation, and felt compelled to share. Thanks Mama n' Papa for years of great pizza!

They have the best Italian food, Pizza is my best. You have to try.

I'm sorry guys, I don't usually leave negative reviews, but... probably one of the worst pizza's I've ever had from a restaurant. The dough had the cracker crust vibe and off-banana flavor that you get from the pre-frozen ones at Vons. Honestly, I felt like this was a reconstituted pre-frozen pie with some added mozz. Maybe some of your other stuff is better?

A good, family run "red sauce palace" Pizza, lasagna. Etc.. Geat anti-pasta salad. Friendly, efficient servers.

I have dinner in this family owned restaurant with every chance l have ,while l am in town. I like all of the fresh food flavors and the clean environment along with the friendly service. This is a great place to have the entire family enjoy dinner. Parking: Present! Kid-friendliness: Enjoy being a kid ! Wheelchair accessibility: Present!

My favorite take-out comfort food is Mama n Papa's lasagna with meatsauce, with layers of cheese and pasta generously covered with a hearty, flavorful bolognese. With a side of the softball sized meatball and house salad (with green olives!) and warm Italian bread, I'm in heaven! The portion is generous enough to share-- or not! It's easily 2 satisfying meals for me. The pizzas look delicious, too. I have never eaten in the restaurant but it seems family friendly. Kid-friendliness: Family friendly. Casual dining.

Always great service and food. Can't beat the prices, and you always leave full.
