We ordered a salmon meal and French onion soup. Presentation and waitress was EVERYTHING. However the food was not seasoned and the soup tasted as if they poured sugar in it, lots of sugar. They offer free bread, oil and cheese at the table. Once again, no flavor. The vegetables in the meal tasted freezer burnt. The waitress was great and the dining area was beautiful. The flight upstairs and coding into the restroom was a little off for me. We will not go be back.
The place is cool. The food options don't have much for vegan or vegetarian so that sucks but the pricing is pretty fair. They have very good lemon drops for those 21 and up.
Two colleagues and I ate at Maldaners this past Wednesday evening and it was a meal/experience to remember. Upon arrival the dining room was clean and semi crowded. The server was attentive and got us our beverages. She was a bit rushed to get our food order but it made sense once two larger groups were seated. The Caesar Salad was cold, crisp and exactly what it should be. The plate appeared chilled without lettuce etc., on the rim(big bonus). I ordered Beef Wellington(medium) and it was perfect - hot and tasty. The beans and potatoes were cooked just right. My comrades ordered the Mushroom Ragu and Scallop special. They truly enjoyed their meals. No dessert for us but the selections were plentiful. The beverages proved there was a skilled bartender. The server(Whisper) was able to recite the daily specials by memory and was knowledgeable with the menu and preparation methods. She was attentive but not over bearing. If there was one hiccup, the lady at the table should have been served first for each course. This is a chef(owner)driven restaurant in a classic building and setting. The menu is solid and the specials provide variety for frequent diners. I will definitely return to Maldaners on the next visit
