I ordered the Makars exclusive royal beef haggis with heather honey & turnip puree with mild smoked apple wood cheese mash. A meal beffiting of a king Deffo a must go when in Edinburgh :)
Delicious vegetarian options!
Great idea, food was good as well. Interior is nice, but let down on price, which was a little high for the concept.
Great restaurant specialising in mash (potato) - lots of different varieties of mash potato (IE mixed with something eg special cheeses, spicy beans, or even black pudding), but this is served with amazing meat (eg lamb, gammon, chicken etc) or non-meat options. Also has 8 varieties of whisky to choose from, lovely scotch egg, and soon decent desserts). Great friendly staff and nice environment / ambience...
Food was fantastic, staff was efficient and attentive, and atmosphere was great. The restaurant was incredibly accommodating of food allergies. We had a member of the party who was gluten and dairy intolerant and had no issues ordering. Staff were friendly and accommodating. We came straight from the train station with multiple suitcases and the staff allowed us to stow all items in the limited space they had.
Long wait but the food was incredible
Stumbled upon this place last night and as lovers of mash we were intrigued. Could not have been happier, atmosphere was great and the servers were friendly and helpful. The haggis with black pudding mash was stunning, the gammon with cheese mash was delicious and the sausages ( the massive sausages!) with the horseradish mash was outstanding, would definitely recommend
Best beef shoulder with mash potato. Great service from Scott and David. If you know Mandarin, try it with Scott. :)
Famous for its steak & mash potatoes. We got cheddar mash and Scottish black pudding mash, wouldn’t recommend the latter one. Sausages and lamb were okay, good that they also gave the sour cabbage which make the whole meal taste slightly better.
