First time diner…. I had the fried catfish with breakfast potatoes and Mac & cheese… the catfish was crusted and soft and flakey on the inside. The potatoes was cooked to perfection and the Mac was delicious. My wife had the blackened catfish, Mac and cheese and greens. She loved it. We are new to Memphis and we will be back.
We had dinner at Mahogany last night and everything was great. Our service was paced just right so we had our food in a timely manner but we didn’t feel rushed. Our waitress was friendly. And the food was outstanding. A wonderful evening.
Very quaint with friendly staff. Cocktails and food was excellent. Vegetarian options: Fried Trumpet Mushrooms and waffles were very good!
The oxtails and grits were the bomb! One of Memphis' best kept secrets for sure.
Over rated, Server S Paso was not attentive at all he took the order and brought it out and that was it never ask if everything was okay did we need anything, but they add 18% gratuity to your check, had reservations for 6:30 got seated food didn’t come until over an hour later which was okay, that was my first and last time!!!!
It's always a great time. The food, drinks, and service are 2nd to none. However, the kitchen staff can move a little faster
My friend and I went to Mahogany Memphis for my birthday. We had reservations for 12:00 on the terrace. The waitress tried to seat us on the inside until I told her our reservations were on the terrace. I arrived at 12:00 and did not receive my food until 1:20. The waitress seemed to have forgotten about us on the terrace. We did not get any refills on our drinks even though we asked. I also asked for bread, which I did not receive until I was finished eat. They were out of the dessert we ordered, which the waitress did not inform us until later. The wait was entirely too long for our food. However, my oxtails with grits were good as well as my cajun egg rolls. My friend ordered the chicken pasta. The seating on the terrace was nice.
1/10 do not recommend The restaurant itself is hard to find because it's inside a shopping complex. There are no signs directing you inside. If not for seeing people leaving the building we would not have known to go inside. The pricing is on the higher end for the provided options (i.e. $30 for 1 piece catfish and greens; $40 for pasta). My husband and I both received cold food from the appetizer to the entree. When we notified the wait staff they said they'd heat it up however the food was still cold upon return. We ordered wings so the fact that they were cold indicated they were not freshly made. In the process of wrapping up our meal, the wait staff hovered over us to clear the table. I would not recommend this restaurant.
