Maggie's

Unique and amazing breakfast options. I was a little worried about chicken fried pork belly. I thought it could be chewy. Nope. It was amazing and tender. The gravy thick and yummy. The biscuit soft. All wonderful. The coffee was good. The service was good. The classic breakfast was also just right.

Small, intimate place with a very nice dinner and drinks. Outdoor patio area too.

The spot is so quaint and modern! Service was phenomenal. Ambiance is great for Tahoe. Price is reasonable for the quality of the food and level of service. Drinks are a bit pricey but worth it. I had a mixed espresso drink, my friends had regular drinks and those were good too. I ordered the chilaquiles osso buco and was impressed by it. The side potatoes are the best I have ever had. (The egg and potatoes were separate).

After reading all the great reviews I knew this was a place I needed to check out while I was in Lake Tahoe. The restaurant is located inside of the Desolation hotel and there are signs that make navigation very straightforward. We had a large party and when we walked in we thought “we won’t fit in here”. Fret not - there is space for larger parties. The service was great. The food was very good and I”m glad we decided to dine here.

I went to Maggie’s last week on Wednesday night. We called in advance to make sure that we will have a table for two. The lady on the phone was nice. She said that we can just come and there is no waiting for a table. So we walked in about 10 min. As she said, the place had several open tables but not cleaned. We asked if we can seat at the bar but it was refused without a reason. We simply just want to get a drink while we were waiting. Oh well, the waitress told us that we can go get a drink at the bar and standing there. We have to wait outside in the cold. We thought that they must be short in help. So we got out in the cold. Here we go, we were watching the five open tables, they cleaned them 25 mins later. And then kept them open for another 15min. We went in and ask if we can seat when that are getting table mats and utensils on it because it was cold out. The waitress got so rude. She said that she told us to wait outside. So 40 minutes later in the cold, we were not seated but asked to staying waiting outside in the cold without any explanations with 5 open tables. Sorry that is not acceptable. Bye bye Maggie’s you don’t deserve our business ever. We got a table and went to Golden Ramsey He’ll kitchen instead in the village. Bad management and bad services

Best food I ate in Tahoe!

We just left our annual Tahoe ski trip and were lucky enough to discover Maggie’s on night #1. This discovery resulted in 3 glorious nights in a row spent at Maggie’s and with their incredible staff. Sheila, Lou, and Laura are world-class, along with its cozy & classy environment, welcoming & elevated experience, tasteful menu and more. Service was 10/10 every night, along with their cocktails, appetizers, and entrees. Maggie’s is in a class of its own at Lake Tahoe, above other similar scale restaurants in the area. My girlfriend and I wish such a place existed back home in Austin, TX.

Service was a little slow but it was a holiday weekend. Great food and drinks! Patio is heated and very comfortable

Not sure what else to say except wow. We heard great things about Maggie’s from a friend who lives in Tahoe and since our hotel was super close, we decided to come for drinks one night before dinner. After our long weekend trip we ended up going to Maggie’s 4 times because it was that amazing! — better than Cafe Fiore any day! The service was fantastic, food was amazing, drinks were delicious (very strong too!), and the overall experience was just exceptional! Next time we visit, we will definitely be staying at The Desolation Hotel and moving into Maggie’s!
