I was excited that the team behind the Apparatus room manage Madam. Sadly, from atmosphere to food, they are a world away from the Apparatus room. The food experimental, pretentious and over-imagined. The atmosphere, a grey industrial dystopia. Glad to have competition to the stuffy Rugby Grille.
Atmosphere and service was amazing. Food was very ”meh” for the prices. I’d say overpriced for what you got. Fine but not worth the prices. Again, service itself and atmosphere was 10/10. The staff were so amazing and kind. My husband ordered the steak frites and the first time round the chef sent out the wrong order and we had to send it back. Not a big deal. The sourdough bread appetizer was good. The halibut for $42 was fine but not worth $42 for a tiny thing of fish and no sides. Overall, would probably come hang out at the bar and lounge but probably wouldn’t return to dine.
Food was good, but not for these prices. From arrival to departure this is some of the worst service I’ve had in Birmingham. Valet took our car and then stopped working. Took our coats and they stopped working. And food took 1 hour to come out. Real bad. Food was decent though.
I've been here 5-6 other times, and it's really gone downhill since they added an additional seating area in the front lobby. We were just 2 people, and the food took over an hour to come out. The only cooked item we ordered was eggs, and there were only 4 other small tables of people. Our server was friendly but only came to our table about 3 times in the hour and a half we were here, so we did not get drink refills. The lobby is nicely decorated, but the new front room feels crowded. The food was fine, but not memorable. Some of it seemed like packaged frozen food. We've been coming here for a couple of years but will not be back.
We reserved for a dinner on Friday night, the place was half empty. We returned three out of the seven drinks we ordered, the glasses smelled like If they were washed with sewage water. The waiter and the manager apologized the first two times and didn't bother after that. Imagine eating food after that experience All that and a 20% inclusive tip in the bill to add insult to the injury. That service was not worth usd 180 in tips.We didn't order dessert to avoid another bad experience. I wish this could reach the owner, I have heard he is the only one who will take action and fix this
I attend this restaurant for the first time as a guest to a birthday brunch. The food was ok, however the service was not good at all, took 2 hours to get sub standard food. I could not even get a glass of cold water. If we asked for something we did not get it or got it so late that we did not need it. I felt our party was totally ignored the 3 hours we were there, and upon departure our bill showed a automatic 26 percent gratuity charge, even though the service was This is a place I don’t plan to come back to or recommend
