Mac's Speed Shop

I ordered brisket a few weeks back and was really disappointed with it. It was dry and had no flavor. Not sure if I caught a bad batch or if it is always just this way, but it was not good. Sides were great though and the collards were awesome! Just won't be ordering the brisket in the future.

Good food and service.

Wasted money and time. The food was not tasty. The brisket, pulled pork and chicken were dry and not seasoned enough, the sausage with cheddar cheese and jalapeño was so over-salted and had a weird taste that none of us could eat it. If you want to eat delicious bbq, this is not what this place is about.

Just sat down and 15 minutes go by and haven't been helped yet and had waiters not even look in our direction and kept pass our table.

This place is great. Service and staff are super friendly and their food is great, especially the ribs and Mac and cheese. They are to die for and whenever I have someone visit, I always make sure to have them try Mac’s Speed Shop. Highly recommend.

I placed a to go order this evening. When I picked it up I checked to make sure the order was right (a burger). The burger was missing multiple toppings (it literally only had cheese on it) so I went to speak to the hostess (who was very nice and understanding) to ask her to have the kitchen just add the missing toppings for me. She went back to the kitchen and returned with the chef not changing anything and explaining that the chef said the order was correct. I had to manually open up the burger for the hostess and show it to her, then show the description of what I ordered from their menu for her to see it was not right. She went back to the kitchen again. When she returned once again the order was not corrected and still missing toppings except for adding some pickles. For whatever reason the chef refused to correct his/her mistake and even went as far as to tell the hostess a topping was already on the burger that was clearly not there. It wasn’t worth it anymore for me to argue with the kitchen again so I left. I don’t know why it was made into such a big deal but I won’t be ordering from here again. It wasn’t busy at the restaurant so making a quick correction wasn’t asking a lot.

Great bbq.

Food was delicious! The collard greens were absolutely amazing. I was actually kind of shock. I ordered the Brisket Sammie with Mac and cheese and collards. The only downside I would say was that the fried onions that went on the Sammie were a greasy, but since everything was compartmentalized (which I really appreciated) it didn’t bother me too much. Also, the bun was very soft and fluffy. Definitely would come back on my next visit to Charlotte. I
