lulubowls (Hawaiian-Inspired Bowls- West LA)

Ordered the banana chia pudding cup, which is a pre-made item (made the previous day(s) and soaks overnight), but it still took over 20 min for someone to pull it out of the fridge. After I left, I discovered the incorrect pudding was placed in the banana-labeled cup (chocolate instead of banana). :( 2 stars because the chocolate was still tasty, but it was not what I ordered.

Ordered Lulubowls during a Postmates BOGO deal. At first this seems like a good deal, especially when you look at the picture on the app. But once you take it out of the nice packaging, it looks like they forgot half of your order. You can see by the picture the tiny portion of chicken. It’s as if they split a full portion in two between me and my friend’s bowl. Since this is a delivery only restaurant, you should expect at least double what they provided (at least for the protein), but not here. All that said, the food did taste quite good. It’s nothing memorable, but it’s not what’s holding it back. The peanut sauce was tasty, and the chicken was cooked well. The free sweet potato salad was a nice touch. This place has potential if they address the portion sizes. It’s unacceptable form a ghost kitchen style restaurant.

This is my second time ordering from LuLuBowls (one was on postmates), but this was my first time ordering directly from the LuLuBowls website directly (honestly a much better, and streamlined experience). The food quality is superb, I would like to see a larger portion of rice (or the meat add on) in the bowls in the future. The food feels “clean”, not greasy, and is light enough to make you feel satisfied without feeling like you ate too much. The bowls I tried, were all bursting with surprising umami flavors! The ingredients were very fresh. I will certainly be coming back! Thanks LuLuBowls!

Ordered a BOGO bowl off postmates and got a total of 6 small pieces of chicken. The rest was unfilling carbs. I ate both bowls and was still hungry and had to cook myself dinner. Such a disappointment. Can’t believe they do this to people and think they can get away with it.

Just ordered the Impossible Meatball Bowl and WOW! They were so light and flavorful. A little on the sweet side, but I thought it paired really well with the charred pineapple. I am a meat eater and actually preferred these to a lot of normal meat balls I’ve had!
