Lucky Rice Cake

The dduk here is the best in ktown, perfect chewiness and texture. I've ordered for my kids dohl birthdays and gave them out as favors. It was a hit. I also recently ordered their popular seollal new years set with an assorted collection of different rice cakes. It's not too sweet (which is the best compliment for any dduk/Korean dessert) and their shikkeh (the sweet rice drink) is perfection.

What a precious little gem! I was running an errand early in the morning and decided to stop by after hearing about this place. And found myself buying both my breakfast and lunch . The dduk here is really nice and chewy, it has the right amount of sweetness/savoriness. The kimbap is also really solid. Heard the shikhae/sweet rice drink is good, gotta try that next time I come.

Ordered the emery 8" cake and I couldn't believe how beautiful it was. A rice cake cake!! It was too pretty to eat but we did eventually have to cut it. It was delicious. Perfect for elders as it's not too sweet and perfectly textured. They didn't even want to share lol. I also ordered their kim bap and the quality of the beef was like dinner gogi. I inhaled it so no pic but trust. Soooo gooooddddd. Eunice responded to my inquiry the next day and was so kind to help me to my car with my huge order. People were so busy talking about the cake asking me where I got it from I didn't get a chance to take many pretty pictures. I can't thank her enough for making my dad's birthday filled with joy

At least for this special order, it was all done online with pickup having to be done at a certain time / date (as they did completely sell out). I got one box of the traditional set which had a good mixture of dduk varieties and wasn't too big either (was just going to be for myself and my parents). Venturing to pick up the order, at least on a Sunday morning, there was a lot of street parking as well as some limited parking in the small plaza (I completely missed it because I always miss these things :(). The pickup process was super easy with no line and was in and out in like 5 minutes. The presentation of this dduk was awesome. Really pretty and made the occasion seem special than the usual dduk pickups from other places. Surprisingly enough, and of course in their traditional Korean way, my parents really liked it (better than the free church dduk my dad exclaimed, which is a big win). Thanks to the team here. Hoping to be back for more orders in the future!
