We enjoyed this place and plan to return. Don't over think the name. Just pronounce it in English and you realize that they intend to be unpretentious. It's a bar and they serve bar food. Food is ordered at the bar then delivered when ready. That was done with smiles and a genuine desire to please. I had a sausage platter. Bratwurst, Kielbasa, and Andouille with sauerkraut, caramelized onions and some German cheese. My companion has a masterpiece of a fried chicken sandwich and we shared the guilty deep pleasure of duck fat fries and fried oyster mushrooms. The somewhat youthful atmosphere was not to my taste. But I am a hoary old foogie who remembers with longing the days of starched linen, matched sterling, and a live string quartet.

Spicy Andouille sausage on a pretzel bun with carmelized onions and relish was a very nice combination. The sausage was authentic Cajun. All this paired with duck fat fries and a creative craft cocktail. Thank you; you guys never disappoint.

Food and Beer are great but there is no way you can get me to come back in here and interact with the staff... Was literally yelled at when ordering a beer during a rush. The sooner they switch everyone out to robots, the better.

(Long review...sorry!) If you're looking for a place that serves beer/cocktails along with sausages, bratwurst, franks in pretzel buns, duck fries, etc. - with family style seating and a pub atmosphere - then check out LowBrau. They have long table/communal seating as well as booths and seating at the bar. They have a ton of beer choices at mid and high prices, but you can also get a Miller High Life for $3! So, you can still hang with your richer friends and have a beer. Just before covid, they were starting to have music/art showings...the last one I went to was Jello Biafra DJ'ing with local art being shown. I hope they bring those nights back. Lowbrau has a nice, open, and relaxed atmosphere. If you're looking to have a quiet, intimate conversation on a weekend night, you might want to go elsewhere. This place is lively and has multiple active conversations going on at once. If you go on a Monday afternoon, it'll be rather quiet. If you go on Friday night, it'll be loud-ish and fun. I recommend this place for 1) a quick beer at the bar 2) a quick appetizer or pretzel 3) a sit down meal of sausages and sauerkraut/caramelized onions 4) a place to bring or meet new people 5) all of the above. Food prices are moderate but something can be found in almost any price range. Hope you enjoy it! Parking: LowBrau is located on the corner of 20th & K Streets. So there is metered parking - when you can find it. Parking is free after 6 p.m. (Dont quote me but i think that's correct.) You might get lucky and find a place right away...or you could find yourself circling the block a few times. Tip - the small strip of 20th street in front of LowBrau is closed on Saturday mornings for the Farmer's Market. There are also closed street music events on 20th street/in front of the Marrs Building during Spring and Summer. Stop by LowBrau when you're at one of these events or just hanging downtown. Hope you like it! Kid-friendliness: I would say bringing children would be appropriate up until around 6-7 p.m. After dark, the place has more of a "bar" vibe that isn't necessarily appropriate for kids.

Motown on Monday never disappoints and the duck fat fries got the spot every time.

I didn't eat pork and beef, but wanted a sausage, so I got the Italian (potatoes+sage). I was not expecting it to be any impressive, but it was actually really good! With a firmness I have no idea how they achieved! We went on a rainy week night and it was pretty empty, not sure if it'd get annoying when crowded.
