Honest Review: 5th visit, they really stepped up their game. The Al pastor tacos were back as the best I’ve ever had. If they stay at this level it’s an amazing place to visit, for high quality food. After 4 visits, it’s gotten worse every time. Restaurant didn’t make any changes, still offers the same bad dessert, and won’t add additional tacos to the menu. The tortillas are dry and crumbling, the chips are small and greasy. Even the good dishes have gone down hill. Would not go back. ——————————————————— Absolutely doesn’t deserve a Michelin star, that’s not me being critical, it just simply isn’t a Michelin star level restaurant. The guide in Miami has lowered their standards. The prices, I have a major issue with. $55 for corn dumplings, $65 for a wagyu sopa. It’s just too much. Now for the positives. The guacamole was vibrant and seasoned well. The Al Pastor Tacos all though way too expensive were delicious. They fry their chips in beef tallow instead of seed oils which is a major difference and provides for a unique taste. The desserts were bad. For $16 it’s like the chef has no knowledge in dessert making. The Carnitas were perfect. Delicious, fair prices for the amount of food you get. But if the waiter doesn’t explain to mix it all together, it would eat very dry. I would absolutely come back, but just for the basics. Tacos, carnitas, guac. All their fancy expensive dishes missed the mark. The kitchen should stick to this concept, use these fine heirloom corn and ingredients and make affordable basics, because that’s where you succeed. Do a low priced corn soft serve ice cream for dessert. Keep it fresh and fun. You are welcome.

Wow experience start to finish in every category imaginable. I had the good fortune of picking Los Felix for Valentine’s Day dinner. The ambience is a locals feel that’s casual with so much personality and attention to detail. Perfectly located in the heart of coconut grove with intimate indoor and outdoor seating. Intimate even in a full room because they will be busy for good reason. The entire staff demonstrated a level of attentiveness that honors their Michelin star. The passion and dedication from the staff made a lot of sense after meeting one of the charismatic partners who took the time to check on every table. We had the pleasure of hearing Josh’s incredible origin story. Antonio was our server and ensured we maximized on the experience by educating us on the concept of the restaurant in addition to each dish and drink. The natural wine selection is impressive and the cocktails are elite! The restaurant effortlessly accommodated a dairy and nut allergy. Non negotiable menu items: Day’s catch crudo, cured tuna, Al pastor tacos (these were our favorite highly recommend two orders), corn dumplings, wagyu sope, and grilled octopus. Everything is prepared and presented like art but more importantly it tastes as good as it looks. Every dish has personality and a unique set of flavors. I couldn’t believe each dish could get better and better but it did. For every passionate foodie, Los Felix is a must again and again.
